Wow Arlan Bruce ties a CFL record with 17 catches. 260 yards and they still lose because the other ticat receivers can't hang onto passes and their defence can't hold onto easy interceptions.

Bruce had a big drop when he was wide open as well. And you have to add in pro-Rider refs to a reason the Ti-Cats lost. That had a pretty big effect on the outcome for sure.

Dimitri Tsoumpas cut by the Dolphins.

The Calgary Stampeders offensive line could get a big boost in the next couple weeks.
Former starting right guard Dimitri Tsoumpas was released by the Miami Dolphins Thursday and there is now a 10-day period in which the 24-year-old Edmonton native can sign with another team.
If no other NFL team picks him up, he becomes Stampeders property for the remainder of this season.
“From what I understand, Dimitri is looking at his options,” said Stamps head coach John Hufnagel. “We’re pleased with the way our offensive line has performed through the start of this season, but if he decides to come back to Calgary, we definitely would be happy to have him.”

Tsoumpas signs "long-term" deal with Stamps. Big news for team going forward. The Edmonton native will anchor oline for years to come. #CFL

VERY good news. Huff has done a great job so far this year in maintaining the Canadian ratio but this will make that job a lot easier for many years to come.

That's fantastic if true, although a little surprising. Still, part of it can be attributed to the new CFL cba that closes the option-year NFL window. That sweet one-year + option year contract was becoming the default contract of choice for young elite CFL players, but this will force them to sign longer-term if they want any sort of security.

Things are falling into place with Rambo and Tsoumpas back. If the Stampeders can remain healthy they have as good a shot as anyone to hoist the Grey Cup.

Love this piece from the Calgary Herald artice...

And to think the Edmonton Eskimos had Tsoumpas in their office on draft day in 2008, only to trade the second overall pick to Calgary in a package that included the recently retired John Comiskey.

Stamps have released OL Godfrey Ellis and QB Cody Pickett.

heraldvickihall And the chips start to fall. OL Godfrey Ellis and QB Cody Pickett released by #Stamps. Pickett was nearing bonus time and Stamps near cap.

Too bad about Pickett - I think Tate is the guy going forward but Pickett is a really nice guy who I think could play in this league.

Damn, for whatever reason I have always like Ellis. Hopefully he can catch on with another team in this league.

They did.
Anyone who's seen Clark play for Penn State knows that he has the ideal make-up of a CFL QB - good passer who is very accurate on short passes, good scrambling ability, but looks for the pass first, and is a good field general. It remains to be seen if he can put it together in the CFL, but he's certainly a better fit than Nealy. He's a very similar player to Tate.

I was hoping they would have kept Pickett longer but they obviously think Tate has more potential. I wonder how many more years will he want to be holding a clip board as Burris is getting up there in age but physically still looks like he can play for quite a few more years.
Doesn't look like too many teams will have room for Pickett even though he is probably a better option than guys like Lulay in BC who looks brutal, Dinwiddie in Sask.
