That 10 foot Henry's reminded of a favorite restaurant when I was like 4 or 5 years old.
JB's Big Boy! ... They had the big giant Fat Boy holding a platter of Food.

On Macleod Trail near Glenmore I think...I beleive it turned into "JR Houstons" and then "The Cheese Cake Cafe" ??? ....Not sure what it is now.

Back in the day 2&7 used to air something called "Showdown" during Stampede where folks would compete in apple-bobbing and what not - I loved it though now I can't remember why.

And it was live, from Weadickville at around 7:30 everynight of Stampede. Highly unorganized and prizes were $25 gift certificates and free hot dogs. Ed Whalen did the odd commentary I think on the events too.

All that said, was much more relevant than ET Canada or whatever trash TV 2&7 has at that time now.

That actually happened at the same time the Flames were getting eliminated by the Oilers in 1991, I believe. Although it could have been the Kings in 1990... I went into the kitchen in a nervous pace during the game and saw the smoke to the south, which was the same direction as my school. Thought maybe the school was on fire!

I dearly missed that Dairy Queen while it was gone, but thank the lord Atlas Pizza was spared!

Yup, almost every time I am up in Edmonton I make an attempt to stop at one of the Red Robin locations for lunch or dinner.

I hit up one of the Red Robins in Edmonton when I was there for the Indy. They do make a damn fine burger.

Was one of the best restaurants to dine and dash.

I hope that's not why they left Calgary...

Nick's Steakhouse by McMahon's Stadium was a JB's Big Boy restaurant back in the day too.

I remember this restaurant in Whitehorn, at the corner of Whitefield Drive and 36th Street called a Touch of Szechuan... not the greatest food but man their sizzling rice was awesome! And there used to be a corner store there that had Mortal Combat II... me and my friend would go there every weekend and spend our afternoons playing that game when we were super young.

Wow, that born to be alive video is definitely, without doubt one of the best music videos I've ever seen. It would definitely get my vote.
