Default Meet Chelsea Baker, a girl pitcher in a boys' league.

You throw like a girl is now a compliment in my book thanks to her. It's pretty impressive, hopefully it continues once the boys catch up in the puberty game.

Good for her. Hopefully she can milk it for some cash now, because the boys are catching up soon, unfortunately.

Wow, very cool story.

Very Top Gear-ish production too.

A Mid 60's FastBall for anyone at age 13 is pretty damned good. If her development continues as such, I could see her topping out in the 80s.

ML Knuckle balls are typically thrown between 65-75 MPH anyways, so its not like she'll have a major physical disadvantage if she keeps trying to throw like that.

I'd love to be the hitter she mistakenly throws a 65mph fastball to. One pitch pitchers don't survive in the majors. They need more stuff, and in her case, more velocity.

He seems to do OK. I'd call almost 200 wins in the Majors "surviving".

If you've watched Wakefield, he throws 2 versions of the knuckleball and very seldom to change things up, will throw a ~80 MPH fastball.

Likely? No. Possible? Yes.

Haha yeah I remember looking at a pitch count for Wakefield one time. It was something like 92 pitches thrown, 90 knuckle balls, 2 fast balls.

The Japanese girl has her beat. She's professional already.

Plays for Chico. They are in Calgary to play the Vipers next weekend July 30. I wonder if she will start?
