ohhhhh, It Came From the Desert was a creepy game for an eight year old. All dark with scary music and giant ants. The funniest thing though is how you had to sneak out of the hospital: "there he is"

My old favorite game in the world was the WWF arcade version.
Jack the Snake and Ulitimate Warrior were awesome. Earthquake jumping around was always good for a laugh.

Return to Monkey Island and Grim Fandango for the PC
 The original Metal Gear

I don't remember the name of it, but right around the time of Gulf War I there was a game out for the Sega Genesis where you would pilot a helicopter around, attacking enemies, picking up hostages and supplies with your winch, etc.

 Original Contra was great

I could go on and on... so much of my teenage years was spent playing video games.

Great games. Gotta add CIV, Championship Manager and New Horizons on the Sega Genesis to this list.

Wayne Gretzky was fantastic. The graphics weren't great but in terms of game play I thought it was very good particularly at the time.

Other faves for me:
Spyhunter

Gotta be blades of steel for me, loved the announcer and I loved the Shootout. It wouldnt be a breakaway, it was a guy in between the faceoff circles and you had to pick the corners. in essense, it was like a soccer shootout.
 Honorable mentions go to

 Bionic Commando
 SPy Hunter
 Ice HOckey
 Contra
 Gyromite

My favourites were, in no particular order:
 Blades of Steel
 Contra
Joust - I think that was the name of it -- where you rode around on these crazy bird like creatures. There used to be an arcade version at Boogie's Burgers, but I'm not sure if it's still there.

Yeah Tecmo Bowl was my favorite Ninetendo game. Hang back with Joe Montana and go long to Jerry Rice. But when I got my Sega Genesis with NHL hockey for Christmas in 1991 it blew me away. The base design for that game was used up until 1995 too I think. I had been waiting for a video game with real NHL players that was decent to hit the market. I had no idea what I wanted for Christmas and was looking through the Sears Catalog and saw it. I thought that the Genesis and NHL hockey might be a bit expensive but I thought what the heck I'll ask for it. My parents asked me why not a Super Nintendo, and I told them it was because NHL hockey was for Genesis at that time (I think NHLPA 93 was the first time it was for SuperNintendo). Most years I had no idea what to ask for at Christmas, but that year I knew damn well what I wanted. I think thats likely the reason my parents went out and got it for me. I sure got my value out of it though.
