On June 26th & 27th, which is this coming weekend, I will be participating in this year's Ride to Conquer Cancer with my teammate & girlfriend. This is a two-day cycling event benefiting the Alberta Cancer Foundation. We have signed up to ride over 200 km on that weekend, along the Canadian Rockies, & as a team, we have agreed to raise $5000. All the proceeds will go to the Alberta Cancer Foundation to support cancer research, treatment, and services. The Alberta Cancer Foundation is a leading comprehensive institution devoted to cutting-edge cancer research and care.
I did this event last year & this year, we cross the finish line together.
Many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. I am riding with these people in mind, as well as for all those who support them. I am also riding in hopes that there will be truth to the name of the event, that cancer will someday be conquered. I am a novice cyclist, so this is certainly a challenge for me. But I've been training hard so I can do this ride, & I am writing to ask for your support.
With only 5 days left until the big event, we would like to thank everyone who have supported us thus far, whether it be financially or cheering us on along the way. You are awesome, & we will be thinking of all of you next weekend during the ride.
We have a last minute special offer, made possible by a good friend, who also happens to be an amazing photographer, Jeff Cruz (fellow CP member aka REdOX). Jeff is a passionate, award winning photographer who is always busy working with clients, traveling to many parts of Canada & the world with his camera, & presenting his works in many local shows & exhibits.
