I LOVE having an excuse not to work that hard in the middle of the day.

It's just so awesome that the bzzz and the diving (artform) don't bother me one bit. I'm totally loving this world cup, detractors by damned.

Go Mexico!

This game would be a blowout if anyone on Mexico could finish.

I never venture into the baseball, football, or basketball threads either to spout off at all of the things that I believe are wrong with those sports and I never will. There would be nothing for me to gain from it.

I guess I can see a genuine interest shown by the likes of Transplant to get a feel for the sport that is different from simply criticizing it. He appears to want to like the sport and is trying to find ways to do so. I'm noticing a warming trend there too.

France is being flattered by this game, their defence is brutal, as soon as they come up against a decent team they're going to get brutally exposed.

Ha, I wouldnt mind seeing a France - Germany game!

France is beyond poor so far. I'm pretty sure that I don't have much Irish blood in me but I really want to see them fail for some reason. I disliked the way that they qualified for sure but it's more than that. Being English might be one reason, having to see French on my cereal boxes might be another.

I don't know the real reason as I love France, the country to visit, but I really need these Mexicans to start finishing. Come on!

And the CBC feed has been fantastic! Excellent quality, no lag, no time warping, why cant they do this all the time?

France is lucky right now, I cant believe how freaking lucky this team is all the time, they must have the luck of the Irish with them.

Somebody's gotta take this ref's whistle away. I'm hearing it more often than the goddamn vuvuzelas!

Laugh, gotta love the English announcers. They have a faint but obvious disdain for the French.

lucky for the mexican player the he had the nerves of steel because had he missed that, mexican drug cartels would grind him into cat food.

Thought that was way offside but good to see a goal. France got what they deserved the way they are playing. They look like a 1st round knockout even with all that talent!

Well ... France is my team so I guess this sucks for me. Not that I expected any better, almost all of France's golden generation is gone.
