Update time!!
K so, we now have some more confirmed playable characters.
Autobots have Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Iron Hide, Air Raid, Silverbolt, Sideswipe, Jetfire and Warpath.
Decepticons have Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Breakdown, Barricade, and Brawl.
Multiplayer has been broken down into four available classes with unique abilites. Scout, Scientist, Warrior and Leader.
I am bit shocked that they decided to have an Autobot tank and instead of go with a fan favorite and easy shoe-in, chose Warpath over Grimlock. I am not sure if they still plan to add more characters. I hope so but there's a pretty good selection already.

Forgot that.
Shockwave (gamestop), Jazz (bestbuy) and Demolisher (Amazon) are all characters you can get if you pre-order it, but are only available in online play.

Apparently Grimlock is in the game and is an unlockable character. Unverified rumour at this point, but he is apparently available in all versions of the game.

How come you have Air Raid and Silverbolt but not the other 3 Aerialbots to form Superion???

I am tempted to upgrade to gold just to download the demo. It is suppose to be a free gold upgrade this week but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Because in a solo-player game how would you propose they merge? Also this could be before the Gestalt Technology was discovered.

Easy, you run around as an individual aerialbot and eventually at some point in the game or if you collect enough energy or something, you have the ability to merge by pressing a button combo.
Then you merge and control the big robot as yourself and it's huge in scale and you stomp over everything until you meet Menasor and he chops your head off with his huge sword.

Just traded in Red Dead Redemption for this at EB Games. Will probably return it there after getting the shockwave character and buy the cheaper version at Walmart or try to get a price match at BB.
Either way I am ending up with a copy of this in my hands on June 22. I cannot wait. I have been waiting my entire life for a good G1 transformers game.
