London Drugs at London Town Square (36th and 32nd) in the NE apparently has most models in stock. I asked the guy in the computer dept when I was in there this evening.

just went out for lunch with my boss and he wants to buy an ipad for an upcoming Europe vacation. He wants to keep a blog going and this would be way easier to do that with then carrying around a laptop

They are nice looking, but my concern is that as the friction fit foam ages, its not going to do a very good job of holding the iPad in place.

Faux leather is not for me either, I want my iPad draped in the finest dead cow available.

The ClamCase one is still the way to go, imo.

I think it would be as well, but only if the keyboard setup is useful.

How bulky is the clam case though? Be great to have the keyboard right there but if its not thin kinda defeats the purpose of getting the ipad and not a laptop

It's made of ABS plastic, so the quality isn't even on par with the polycarbonate used in other cases or the plastic Macbook. I would definitely want to see one before plunking down any money - sounds pretty cheaply made to me

This is exactly why the clam has never clicked with me as useful. I'm willing to give away style points, but not that many. One of the biggest pluses of the iPad in my eyes is the fact that it doesn't have the bottom keyboard piece that a netbook has.

Has anybody tried Pulse (RSS reader)?

I use Pulse as my primary newsreader, preffered it to the others I purchased. It only allows 20 sources (first version was 10!) If that has an impact on your decision.

Its a great app!

I think Pulse got pulled from the app store, did it not? You’ve already got it, obviously, but I wonder what changes will be in store for it.

Word on the street says it's available again, but without any changes to address any of the NYT complaints.

Edit: Yup, it's still there. Better buy it while you can: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/artist/al...nc/id371088676

I have my first iPad feature request, and I’m curious if others here would agree.

I would like it if the screen was able to go dimmer! If I’m using the iPad as an overgrown iPod at night, the lowest brightness is still blinding if you decide to turn it on and switch playlists or podcasts in the middle of the night. It’s even too bright, in my opinion, for surfing or reading if the lights are off.

You can toggle white on black in the Accessibility menu for night ops, but it would be nicer if the darn thing would just go dimmer.

There's a jailbreak for that.

Why not change the brightness in settings? I wish there was a brightness control that was more easily accessible.

The lowest brightness setting in Settings is still not low enough, that’s what I meant.
