Nemisz has an extremely good chance of becoming an NHL player, but not a very good chance of becoming a top 6 guy, which is what the Flames desperately need. I only bring this up because the guys picked before and after Nemisz, Tedenby and Ennis are the kinds of players that the Flames should have been targeting IMO. They may not have as good a chance at making it to the NHL as their size probably prevents them from being bottom 6 players, but they both have a much better chance than Nemisz at becoming top 6 players at the NHL level. Sutter needs to get away from "safe picks" if this team wants to draft and develop scoring talent IMO.

I find it so funny. So many of you guys in the last couple of years were claiming Moss could (or even was) a top 6 player.
Neimez potential >> Moss

People were actually claiming Moss to be a top 6 player? The guy is probably the least talented Flame who get's by on being a big body around the net. He's one of the reasons the Flames transition game was so bad last year as he can't make a pass or receive a pass on the rush.

Oh ya. Go back and read past threads when Moss made Kobasew expendable.

moss is a garbage goal type player. when the team has NO offensive presence, barely retained any offensive pressure, and barely had offensive possession of the puck, he's not really effective in many other areas of the game.
if the flames get better offensively this year, i expect moss to be a 10-20 goal getter.
That's more than i expect from chuck "take the puck wide, then get easily knocked off it" kobesew.
Moss at 1.3 is fine. I'd rather deal with that than kobesew at 2.3...

Like others I was suckered in in his great 1st year. However, go back and read my posts that are much more recent during the past year and how he has no hands.
Same goes for my calling out Conroy early on and yet everyone would attack me. Or Sarich and everyone would attack me cause he was such an amazing playoff warrior.
PS - where did I say Moss was a top 6 player in that post? I said he was part of the reason that made Kobasew tradable.

Ugh. I don't think we need to start having a battle to see who is right or wrong most often. People should be allowed to change their opinions over time. The self-congratulating coupled with people trying to dig up wrong opinions from years ago - is irritating.
We are all right....and wrong...a lot on here.

All the above aside - Nemisz had a really good game last night.

You have to admit that him calling people out on what he himself said, almost word for word, is hilarious.

Nemisz is a hard guy to judge as I've mentioned before. He's either on the top line with a guy like Hall who gets most of the attention from the opponents or he's on a 2nd/3rd line and going against 2nd/3rd pairing defensemen. So you don't get the same read on him as you do other 1st round guys since most usually are the key cog on their junior team. Obviously its not his fault he ended up on a powerhouse team... but it does make him harder to judge.
The junior team from around here that most closely resemebles the power of Windsor was London from about five years ago (although they didn't have a Hall type player). Corey Perry was their big gun... but from the 2nd tier guys you had a mixed bag... Rob Schremp we all know about... but David Bolland's a pretty valuable guy these days. You also had Brandon Prust who brings some value but someone like Dan Fritsche turned into a journeyman NHLer.

It will be interesting to see how Nemisz performs with the Heat next year, considering they are a much different team than the Spitfires. It will probably be a much better indicator as to what sort of role he can play on the big club.
