There are a ton of hiking trails. Wild Horse Canyon just south of the city, Gallagher's Canyon East of Kelowna. There's Mount Hayman too, which is a local favorite. You can find info on Kelowna hiking trails at tracksandtrails.ca
The rooftop patio at Earl's is pretty cool, as MQS said, wear sunscreen.
There are a ton of fantastic restaurants in the Okanagan, if you're not much of a wine drinker you can get away relatively cheap! Quail's Gate is fantastic, Mission Hill's food is amazing. They're both winery's but you don't need to drink wine. The Greatful Fed (Breakfast), Bouchon's bistro, Raudz, and the Wild Apple are worth a try.
Check out the Farmer's Market near Orchard Park Mall on Saturday morning.
It's only May, so the water is still cold, but rent a boat or a pair of seadoo's and check out the shore south of the city. The houses off Lakeshore Rd are quite the spectacle. There are more than a few places worth 8 figures.
It's still early in the year and it's probably going to be pretty rainy this weekend. There's plenty to do if you don't golf, drink wine, or hang out on the beach, but yeah... those are the three most popular things to do in Kelowna other than boating/watersports.

I spent all of last summer in Kelowna and the only good things to do were the things you seem to not be in to.
There's a couple good coffee shops called the Bean Scene if you want to grab a coffee and chill out.

That weather forecast sucks. I am heading out to Vernon on Thursday, I have been looking forward to it for the last couple months. Good ol' mother nature really can be a downer some times.

Golf is just something we've never gotten into, apologies. If we're to wander around in the sun we're much more interested in hiking and seeing "the nature".

So you're not counting out an investigation of folklore related aquatic life?

Nope...and if fact since we're divers I made a pass through the local dive scene so we might have to go for a hunt.
And the weather while not ideal sounds like it could be worse:

Friday Cloudy. Low 7. High 16. Saturday Cloudy with 30 percent chance of showers. Low 8. High 18. Sunday A mix of sun and cloud. Low 8. High 20.

Since we fly in Saturday morning it might be ok.

I've been spending at least a couple weeks every summer in Kelowna for over 10 years now. One of my favorite things to do is to cruise around the lake on a boat, wakeboard, tube etc. There are a lot of cool mini golf courses. The nicest one isn't Scandia, which is gradually turning into a trash heap (although I havn't been there for a few years), the nicest one is right on the opposite side of the bridge from Kelowna. I forget its name, but you can't miss it.

Hey furnaceface
I think someone already mentioned the knox mountain hill climb – that’s always popular on the may long weekend.
If you don’t mind spending a little $$, the Sunday morning brunch at summerhill winery is AMAZING!! My wife and I have been once and plan on going again soon. The food is fantastic and the lakeview is gorgeous.
There are lots of trails for hiking and even rock faces for climbing if you’re into that.
There is a local company that does helicopter tours – not sure how expensive it is though.
You could also rent a boat and go cruising on the lake… but you might need a boating license in order to rent – I’m not sure since I’ve never done it.
You mentioned that you might be into moving to Kelowna at some point in the future – there are always lots of show homes open every weekend if you like doing that sort of thing. There are some amazing homes out in the mission you can go thru – a bunch over 7 figures!
If you’re bored… and I mean REALLY bored, you could always come out to the CNC Hockey rink on Sunday night and watch a game from the co-ed hockey league I’m in! My team isn’t playing this Sunday, but I might be there scouting the competition! Ha! Ha!
The Kelowna tourism site is probably something good to check out too…. http://www.tourismkelowna.com/
I hope you enjoy your trip!
…and I just gotta add… bouw n arrow… FLINTSTONES!?!?! Really?? That place was torn down years ago. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the drive-in theatre that was beside flintstones! Ha! Ha!

I totally wanted to do that last year, but it was insanely priced. Like, I'll over spend on vacation for a once in a lifetime opportunity that I'll remember forever.
Helicopter ride over the Okanagan Valley for this Atlantic Sea Boy was definitely one of those opportunities. But it was too expensive for me. IIRC it was well over $100 for a half hour.

/\ /\ wow! that is pricey!
my wife and i did a heli-tour back in '03 after the okanagan mountain forest fire. it was amazing to see the valley from above (and all the damage done by the fire)
they must have been doing the tours for smokin' cheap becuz i know it wasn't that much... mind you, that was 7 years ago
...back in my day we could by a pack of hockey cards for a quarter and it came with bubble gum... ha! ha!

I've done helicopter tours in Hawaii and Canmore, lots of fun. I found one of the outdoor companies that does a fly and bike tour. You take off in a float plane from the lake, fly around the valley and such. They then take you up to the Tressles where you hook up with your guiide and bike around the Tressles. Sounds like it could be fun...and I'm sure it'll be nice and affordable!

Mrs. HockeyPuck and I rented scooters when we were there last summer. It was great because we both don't know how to ride a motorcycle, and the scooters were so easy to learn how to ride. We rented them for a couple of hours and we rode up Knox Mountain Park - took some gorgeous pics at the top. Then we rode back down through the town and rode along Lakeshore Road and then up a mountain to Carmelis Goat Cheese store for some ice cream.
Really fun ride and after that ride, I think Mrs. HockeyPuck will let me take motorcycle lessons and get a motorcycle! Win-win!
