Yeah, not so sure about that. She's hot, no doubt, but I routinely see women at the mall that are at least equal.....and that's in Fort Mac!

My theory is the famous => hot, perhaps even as much or moreso as hot => famous. Marketing and general ubiquity have a huge influence on how we percieve attractiveness. There are so many gorgeous ladies who are totally unknown.

Because she wrote a song about kissing Scarlett Johansson. Seriously, that's how this stuff works. If it weren't for that most people wouldn't even know she exists. (Still a good starting point for Hottie Draft scouting though!)
