And that pretty much does it for Bayern. Down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes.

still not over, extra time is a huge possibility of Man U sit back like they did in the 2nd half last week

Back and forth first half. Have to be pleased with the offensive production but the goal against was crap.

United need to keep Munich off the score sheet in the second half. I wonder if Rooney comes off at half. Incredible he's back already.

My goodness Rafael. That was shocking decision making. What the hell was he thinking?

What a nice goal by Bayern. Perfectly placed kick from Ribery to Robben....geez that was crazy.

Great goal by Robben. Nobody in the world is stopping that.

Without a fully healthy Rooney I didn't think we had a chance, but we scored 3 first half goals and that should have been enough. We blew leads in both legs and that is that. Credit to Munich of course they played well, especially the second half today.

You have to take your hat off the Rooney though. The guy is a machine and all heart. You could tell he wasn't right today but was still giving it an effort. If he can walk or limp he wants to play and try to make a difference, which is something you will never see the Gerrards of the world do.

And I have to add, what a crap two days!

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson on Rafael's sending-off: "Young boy, inexperience, but they got him sent off. They all rushed towards the referee. Typical Germans. You can't dispute that. The key issues were the goal before half-time and then the boy getting sent off, but it's still taken an exceptional goal to win the tie."

best part about is that Ribery is French, and the other one who made a big fuss about the arguing was Robben who is Dutch

Coming from the one guy who rags on refs worse than everyone else combined...

Great result, I'm happy, adios United!

speaking of complaining to the refs, someone put together a nice set of pictures after Fergie's "typical germans" comment
