Simply put: telustv has never f'ed up hard enough to miss a flames ppv. Shaw has screwed me more than 5 times and since I have been on telus all is well.

For that alone I like telus better.

I can't see how people can like Shaw more than Telus if you've tried both but to each their own i guess.
Shaw offered a one for one replacement without a contract.....

My Telus doesn't freeze- although I currently live in a fibre optic building.

When I move to an older community next month, I'll let you know about the performance then!

People still flip through channels? The guide is the only way to go.

Why skim through 100+ channels... You either have ADHD or way too much time on your hands.

Consider it a good thing. Seeing that our record during PPV's was abysmal.

Fair enough, but if I pay for something I want to get it.

(That's what she said).

Because I like to watch the first minute or so of a show before I decide if I actually want to watch it. There would be so many shows I'd miss if I used the guide.

At Shaw channel changing speeds depend on a type of a DCT you use. The older DCT 2000 is slow, the 2500 is very fast. The ASTBs are in between.

Telus speeds vary on where you live as each click goes back to the central system (node) so if there are network issues you will really have a reason to complain. Of course if you're using the internet and another tv at the same time the speeds may suffer as well. With that type of technology it won't get any bette any time soon.

Ok I've had a change of heart. I wanna chuck this stupid telus PVR out the f'in window. It's freezing atleast 4 times a day now and the sound is so messed up I dont understand why I have to turn down the volume when commercials come on and turn it back up when the show comes back on.

Dumbest technology that has ever been released. Some things are better but over all this is a piece of crap system. I guess I never had it long enough to judge earlier. What really got me is when it froze during the Pheonix game and it took about 5 minutes to come back. I'm on a contract so I don't know what I'm gonna do to be honest.

I am currently with Shaw, but wanted to switch to Bell or Telus satellite. I can't because I live in a townhome and it is against the strata by-laws to have a dish put up. I want to get MLB Extra Innings and the only company that doesn't have it, is Shaw. Does anyone have anything good to say about Telus TV? Is it worth giving it a shot?

You are on a contract, so that means both you and Telus have obligations.

Make sure that they are living up to theirs. I wouldn't be surprised if they had no obligations to give good service, but they need to be making a reasonable effort.

Telus is about 20 dollars a month cheaper for me and I'm getting at least 10 channels more then I did with shaw. They may not have quite as many HD channels as shaw but they are adding more every month it seems.

As for the freezing people have talked about, i've experienced this a couple of times but I called the support line (which is amazing compared to shaw's poor service. With telus I don't get the 9-5 appointment shpeal where they don't even bother showing up) and they fired a software update that cleared everything up for the last 4 and a half months.

I'd be really interested to know how Telus' multi-room PVR works; that's one area where they seem to have their competitors outclassed (though I am no expert). Unfortunately, neither Telus nor Shaw have Playhouse Disney ... I think my wife would kill me if I switched to one of them for our TV service ... plus, Bell hasn't screwed us over on our service ... yet.
