This just in! CTV: "Rat found in Calgary Alley"

I understand Alberta's issue with rats, but I was chuckling at what someone not familiar with Alberta's rat-free status would think of a city of over 1 million people obsessing over a dead rat.
"311?!!!! Make that 911! and have the medical examiner on standby, stat!"

Alberta rat free? hahahaha do they have a rat fence between saskatchewan and Alberta?
I understand we claim to be rat free. but we definetly aren't. We still do a good job compared to other provinces though.

I suppose compared to NYC, we do a pretty good job. But then again, urban myth says NYC has crocodiles living in the sewers.

The City of Calgary averages 8 Rat sightings every year, That's about as close to "Rat Free" as you can get IMO.

But there's way more politicians in Alberta than that.

That's probably abut the same as the number of liberal MP/MLA sightings. Cool.

The Alberta government employs the Rat Patrol which travels around the province exterminating any and all rat infestations that are reported. Most of their work is done within a couple hundred km of the Saskatchewan border, but they will respond to reports anywhere in the province.

Most of them do their business in Edmonton, where much fouler things steal attention away from them...like the Oilers, for example. I wonder how many rat sightings would be reported in New York if there were fataing dinosaurs and smoke monsters rampaging through the city.

anyone who has lived in one of the worlds major cities and has seen rats the size of small children would agree with the need to exterminate rats at all costs... *cringe*

Who cares about rats, it's pigeons that need to be taken care of. Rats with wings and all that.

I think you mean magpies. I was just about to start another thread called "All magpies should be exterminated".
