Default Other road closures this weekend- 22X

Just in case anybody uses 22X....

Marquis of Lorne Trail: from MacLeod Trail SE to Sun Valley Boulevard SE
road closed — starting 10:00 AM, Apr 01/10 until Monday, at about 5:00 AM MDT
Comment: The road will be closed for utility work. Motorists are advised to use Sun Valley Boulevard to bypass the closure. Truck traffic must use Anderson Road to Deerfoot Trail, or Anderson Road to MacLeod Trail to bypass the closure.

It's funny- I have heard about the West LRT closures several times this week, but wouldn't have known about 22X except for the fact that I live in the area and noticed the signs.

Given the signs are bloody everywhere, nobody who uses the road should be surprised. There's even one on Barlow.

I'm sure the residents along Sun Valley Blvd are going to love this, lol.

Yeah, but reading the signs I didn't think they would close it down prior to tonight's rush hour; I figured it was 10:00 PM.

I just drove by there. I hope they have cops at rush hour to wave everyone through the lights at sundance. It seems stupid to wait for a light when theres no traffic coming down 22x.

I would think the lights are required as there is traffic going West on 22x right up to the Sun Valley Boulevard SE, traffic will need the lights to go left into Chaparral.

I believe the closure starts at Sun Valley Boulevard SE and ends at Macleod Trail.

I realize that. But thats an advance green into chaparral, the volume coming out of sundance at rush hour is going to be ridiculous. They should try and move traffic more efficiently since they dont need the long green for the east west 22x traffic.

Why its a long weekend. The closure lifts on April 5th.

Personally I live in Sundance and I work in the North, its no big deal I will go the other route towards Anderson.

I work in sundance and live in mckenzie towne. The light out of sundance after work is usually backed up. I'm thinking today it will be really bad.

Yeah, it is a little surprising they didn't do it after the evening rush. I guess evening traffic isn't as heavy as morning traffic.
