When trying to make fun of another team's goalie, it's a pretty good idea to at least spell his name right.

+1.

She should have registered as taking Jack Frost, and brought her lesbo date. Then, when dancing, have the date whip off her man wig and BOOM, Dyke-town!

This school board is ridiculous, they are going to get their pantsuits sued off them.

At least for the lesbian, this will pay for her future education and then some - I can't see how she doesn't win every lawsuit she brings against the school

I heard they cancelled the dance as the venue wasn't adequate because it didn't have a dance floor and we all know you can't dance on carpet...

She wrote to them asking permission because she knew that in the past it had been a problem.

There's nothing to bring a lawsuit about, at least not based on this instance. By cancelling the dance the school avoided treating her differently than everyone else, which is where the legal issue would have arose.

I am pretty sure they'll be able to dig up an email that will tie the cancellation to her lesbian-ness and then they're up sh*t creek without a paddle.

Secondly, this is

A) The USA we're talking about

and

B) A Civil suit, where the onus of proof is simply 'more likely than not'. i.e. Is it more likely than not that the prom was canceled to avoid having a lesbian student and her female date attend?

As I said above, I am sure that subpoenas to the school board's IT department for email / server backups could easily provide something that supports the cancellation being lesbian-related and then they're cooked.

So being allowed to attend her prom with a date, just like everyone else, is somehow giving her special treatment?

I went to HS in the states. We voted a lesbian prom king.
Damn we were mean.

A different year we also voted a set of boy/girl twins prom king & queen.

Looking back, our school was really messed.

Okay, you go right on believing all of that incorrect stuff

There's no violation of rights, there's no disparate treatment, there's no actionable offense. It doesn't matter what the motivation was, they treated everyone equally. That's the basis of the complaint, and it doesn't exist here.

Huh? There's no prom to attend. The different treatment would be not allowing her to go with the person of her choosing.
