Quebec Health Minister Yves Bolduc said he's still evaluating a request by some doctors that they be reimbursed $704 per day by the province for volunteer work in Haiti.

The biological mom of my adopted kids is alive and healthy. Their three half brothers are also okay. She has lost everything and is living with a number of other people in packed conditions. I managed to get her some money for food and clothes (Western Union rocks). Being a broke, single father of 4, I don't have much to give, but I have a whole lot more than she does.

And I just saw Sliver's question to me about questioning my belief in God. I do not want to get into a religious argument because you won't change my mind and I won't change yours, so I won't waste my time or yours. But to answer your question, my belief in God has not changed, you either believe or don't...I do. If you are wondering if my FAITH in God changed, it actually increased. I can't tell you God's plans (nor can Mr. Robertson) and I hate that 300,000 people died, but I can see some good coming out of this tragedy. If the quake didn't happen, untold thousands of Haitians would continue to perish from crime, starvation, malnutrition, accidents, and lack of medical treatment. I don't think I have EVER seen such an outpouring of support for a nation and believe this nation could be rebuilt to thrive in the future. From a religious standpoint, Haiti has this strange duality where many people professed Christian beliefs, but also practiced voodoo. This tragedy has brought about a bit of a Christan revival in Haiti. One day I'll ask God about it, but until then I will just trust that He knows a whole lot more than I do and be content with that.

My bro-in-law is back - I just saw all his pictures last night, including many from Port Au Prince. I'm sure he would be happy to show you the pictures.

ya, she's done relief work in the phillipines after the typhoon, she's going to haiti tonight. she's a very special woman and i do plan to marry her, just not right away, and she's very ok with that. the wedding might get in the way of helping people!

Got a couple of updates from my kids' bio mom in Haiti, thought you might be interested. I will direct quote from her last couple of emails. Excuse the grammar issues, English is her third language. This one was in response to my sending her some money. "I found the Western Union you have sent me, you don't have (any) idea of what you do now. I don't know how I can grateful you, but I only know in God's hands your blessing will be wide as an ocean. Thanks a lot. As I told you, a part I will distribute, and I'll buy a tent for me to place somewhere to sleep. You know it was something difficult for me to sleep cause its rain frequently in Port Au Prince now." She is in one of those makeshift villages in a park. More in her next email coming up....

Second email, after I asked her what she has gone through: "Sorry, I found Internet work rarely where I am. I lived in a little house between two high houses, 7 floors and 10 floors (Centre Technique Saint Gerard) a university. That 10 floors lean on my house I was inside my house when the house shaked. I couldn't go anywhere cause all the doors were closed (blocked) and My God opened a little hole for me to go. It was terrible everybody was surprise to see me alive between those houses. The block that I live is the most devastated in that earthquake (Carrefour Feuille, Centre Technique Saint Gerard, Morne Lazarre, Canape Vert, centre ville de Port Au Prince). You can tieque (I think she means 'check') on the net still now. I live in Champs de Mars, a public place." I will try to find some pics. Amazing, a ten story building falls on her house and she finds a tiny opening to get out from underneath it all.
