I didn't realize Old Dutch was a Canadian thing. BTW, old dutch kettle chips are magnificent.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet, but Crispy Crunch. I seriously almost went into withdrawal the year I lived in the States.
Oreos are different in the US too. The American ones have a softer consistency and dissolve almost instantaneously in a glass of milk.

NeoCitran - at least so I've been told. My boyfriend's brother lives in Florida and he gets his family up here to bring boxes of it every time they go down to stay with him.
Okay so this isn't really food, but you ingest it so I thought it could qualify.

Really? No NeoCitran? Although for me, it just doesn't work. And I don't like the taste. But I have friends who swear by it.

Well, it contains a fair bit of drugs. I find the hot drink soothing. The problem is it is like 30g of sugar. That doesn't help me sleep.
However, mixing that up with some quality Sudafed works great. Might not make you fall asleep, but it won't really matter.

The US Slurpee thing is really unfortunate. But those types of 'slush' drinks exist north of the border as well. Many non 7-11 convenience stores and service stations sell what is termed a 'Frozen Carbonated Beverage'. They are very similar in makeup - syrup and ice, but they are poured much more quickly from the tap resulting in more air and less ice.
If you ever encounter something like this, the way around it is to pour half into a cup and take a straw and stir the air out of it or tap the bottom of the cup on a hard surface. You will see the volume of air decrease as the contents of the cup settle. You end up looking like and idiot but it can usually sort out that common problem. Not 100% sure if this works with US 7-11 Slurpees, but it does with inferior Canadian ones.

There was a brief time in high school myself and some of my friends used to drink a lot of neo-citran to get high.... Like dangerously high amounts. One time I could have sworn that I was watching us playing hacky sac from about 5 feet above.. it was realy stange.... almost like an out of body experience.

That kinda sounds like what my friends were doing in junior high. Literally cutting of the circulation to their brains to black out. The whole idea squicked me out so I never tried it, but it was really popular back then. Thinking back on it, omg, kids are stupid.

Yeah, I can't ever find Cheese Whiz down there. I buy a lot of grocery's in the US, and haven't been able to find it. I think it's called Velveeta down there, but I thought we had that in Canada too.

Well the two stores I shop in are in Oroville and Omak Washington. Most people I've met from the state of Washington have no idea where those towns are. Chances are the only Truckers who can find those two towns are the ones running drugs from BC to California.

I thought they didn't have it here either, until I found it.. it's in a totally different Jar and is like how I remembered it growing up. In Canada they made it runny in recent years.
