Im happy for Jokinen. The guy has had a rough year. Nice to see him have a huge game and get to celebrate something.

I can never be happy for Jokinen, his struggles pretty much destroyed the positive forward momentum that the Flames had at the beginning of the season. If he didn't suck so much ass, this team would have been in a better position and we probably wouldn't have had to trade away Phaneuf and Aulie.

Class act by the Fins after the game. Genuinely happy and excited, all of them. Biggest smiles I've seen on Kiprusoff maybe ever. Hagman waving flags. Saluting crowd, doing the Euro wave. Definately feel good story.

Again, full credit to Slovaks through the game. Say what you want about Gaborik, he was out there probably at 60%, wanting to win a medal for his country. A lot of those guys, same with the Fins, are a lot tougher than are given credit for in the NHL.

Here's a stat: the coach just said that Finland didn't give up a single third period goal in the tournament. 11GF 0GA.

Great battle from a team that never quite found their game.

Kipper outplayed the goaltender at the other end. Not sure if the other Finnish goalies would have made that one save in the third, so the people who criticized the Finnish coach for putting him back in were proven wrong, I think.

The same sucky dumbass team with AHL talent gets a medal in every best-against-best tournament, it seems: maybe there should be a discussion about whether or not men's hockey is at high enough level to be included in the olympics at all.

umm ok..what do you wanna do, burn the guys house down?

He always had a good attitude here and put in a solid effort. He didn't play up to expectations but I'm not going to hold a grudge against the guy forever. The Flames problems were much deeper than Jokinen this season.

Very pro Slovakian broadcast. I thought Kypreos and McKenzie ripping the Finnish coach for sticking with Kipper was way over the top, and especially no one on the panel giving the coach credit after his decision worked.

If Jokinen played remotely up to par, the team would be in a much better position. And no, I don't want to burn his house down, but I can't cheer for the guy and will always have sour feelings towards the guy everytime I see him picking his nose on national television (Ie. every time the camera is on him).

Gotta hand it to Bob McKenzie, he came out after the game and said it was a mistake to criticize the decision to start Kipper. Takes a lot of guts to admit you're wrong on national TV.

Ray Ferraro of course was too busy playing with himself in the men's room with dreams of Luongo wearing gold dancing in his head to comment.

Why don't you just shut up about Jokinen. He isn't even a Flame anymore.

That has to be one of the most ridiculous things i have ever read on here.

If McKenzie did, credit to him.

Like I said, he's back in business.

Adding a healthy Demitra to a lineup is like making a trade at the deadline and giving up nothing. He will probably play with Kesler/Raymond when they resume play so diss him all you want!

While I am sure Demitra will help the Canucks out and will be better than he was for them last year and in limited action this year, I don't think he will be the gamebreaker he was in the Olympics.

Players for teams like the Slovaks, Fins, Swiss all go to tournaments like this, lay it all on the line and play hockey that they cannot replicate at other times in their career.

They put on the jersey of their national team, feel the pride and national honor that comes with that and their game hits another level.
