Big deal, the IOC seems to be a joke to me.

They're running out of condoms in an Athletes Village housing 16 year-old girls and they're upset about this?

Huh... I never realized the IOC was run by puritans. God forbid you celebrate an achievement!

Sure it's harmless in that nobody got hurt but when you represent your country you are expected to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner and the whole world is going to see our team represented in an unflattering manner on an Olympic venue. This isn't the first time the women's team has won gold (and really they only had to win one game) and they should know better. It's not like if the men win gold you are going to see Iginla, Crosby and co on the ice with beer and smokes after.

Lighten up. They worked hard, they deserve to let off some steam.

Here's the understatement of the day . . . . .

Steve Keough, a spokesman for the Canadian Olympic Committee, said

"In terms of the actual celebration, it's not exactly something uncommon in Canada," he said.

No poop!!!!

It just looks amaterish. In professional sports, they get their trophy on the ice/field/court, parade it around for the fans to see. And then all the celebrating is done in the dressing room.

They should have done it in the dressing room, not at center ice. I have absolutely no problem with teams going nuts after a game in the locker rooms, but at center ice? No thanks.

If it was the US doing it we would all be blowing a sh*t about it, comparing it to Terrel Owens, and calling them no class arrogant d-heads.

Win the game, shakle hands, then go back to your room/bar/whatever and have at 'er. Waving the golden flag around right after the game, laying on the center ice logo, and huffing cigars really bothers me for some reason.

The press didn't have to run the story either... We should deport whoever publicised it.

Well these girls really are amateurs in the truest sense!!

I can see both sides of this thing myself. I certainly understand their reasoning for going back on the ice to just soak in what they had achieved after 4 years of hard work to get to this point.

I can also see where this is a brain-cramp in the eyes of the IOC as well as the COC in that the optics really are quite undesirable knowing all the young people that will surely see this stuff as well as still wearing the Maple Leaf while doing so.

They should have done the celebrating in any fashion they deemed appropriate, but they should not of done it in front of a worldwide media.

Playing ONE game that means something and winning is not grounds for such an over the top celebration in my books. Perhaps if they had been forced to grind out wins all tournament long I would be a little more forgiving but give me a break. I'm proud we won but there is no reason all the drinking and cigars couldn't have been done in the privacy of the locker room.

If this had been our mens team and not the womens team, you guys would be praising them all for their "manly" celebration. Get over yourselves and give these girls the moment.

They have been away from families living together in this city for a year, and have played a grueling schedule leading up to the Olympics. This celebration is not just for the win of the gold medal, but a celebration of a fantastic season.

I'm bothered by the backwards hats. Grow up! What? are they 15? Kind of a bad example to kids.

I didn't care at first but after seeing the pictures I feel like they could have been a little classier. Dressing room celebration would have been perfectly adequate.

It would be worse. I'd slam them even more.

It's embarassing, that's the kind of thing that you do in the dressing room. Just looks sloppy.
