Once you have completed your recovery in the hyperbaric chamber, you will have to relearn how to use the leg, as the nerves fuse with the reinforced endoskeleton.

After this short relearning process, you will be able to run faster, jump higher and roundhouse kick anyone you wish. You will be FireFlyCyborg!

If I weren't 2-1/2 hours away I'd bring her mine with an aircard.

You guys are all awesome. I will be out by tomorrow and being pampered by my family i'm sure. (they'd better!). And will have lots of time to watch the game tomorrow night. I was going to paint my toenails on Tuesday but that will have to wait apparently. In the meantime, I have new bandages and it doesn't look nearly as bad today. We discovered that the doctor used staples on the incisions and you aren't supposed to tape a wound after surgery! (also when picking up a broken leg, do so with both hands underneath for support and don't just let an end go to point at something. It hurts.)
Thanks again everyone for your well wishes.

Can we sue the person who should be looking after that sidewalk? CP will do it. We have lawyers on board.
The board will take 5% of the earnings. |

Best wishes Firefly! Very sorry to hear about your injury.
I have seen first hand how much that sucks. A similar thing happened to my old man, he slipped on some ice and broke his leg pretty much the same way it was described that you broke yours.

What's with all this talk of suing the guy for not shoveling? It sucks but is that really lawsuit worthy? At the end of the day if I slip on ice I take the blame. You've got to take caution in Canada in the winter. I've fallen on my arse a couple times this year so far and it's my own clumsy fault.

Do you ever walk down the sidewalk in your community? There will always be some reject who has obviously no intention of ever shoveling his sidewalk. I can understand if there is snow on a sidewalk if it snowed that day or even in the past 2 days, but if it hasn't snowed in 2 weeks and the guy has 3 inches of packed ice on his walkway, that is clearly negligent.

I would expect to be sued if I caused an accident like that.

			Yikes!
I'm trying to think of something more creative to say than just "get well soon," but I've got nothing. Hopefully you don't go insane sitting around for 3 months. You seem like a pretty active person, so I can imagine you'll be trying to climb the walls soon.

Anyway, take care! I'm sure I'll say something entertainingly idiotic somewhere around here at least six times a day. So, you know, at least you have that to look forward to. |

None of this personal responsibility crap. Sue the hell out of the guy so everyone knows that they should their sidewalk.

Okay, I'm slightly kidding.

But it would be nice if there was some sort of fine in place for homeowners who don't make an effort to shovel their own sidewalks.

It takes a tough person to go through what you are right now. I would only wish it on my worst enemy.
Unfortunately these types of injuries aren't very speedy to recover from, but here is hoping for a full recovery and that at least the pain goes away quickly.
