Total domination that period but the bad thing is Canada is only up a goal. Have to start burying our chances the next 2 periods.

Germany's in the position they want to be to end the 1st.
Iginla looks like he's reacting instead of acting. He's skating slow and looking for stuff to happen around him.

Luongo looks fine... I guess. At least he's not trying to bat pucks directly at German players.

The Sharks line is once again the best line on TC.

The defense has been pretty good, but you can't really base it on anything since they're playing Germany.

			Shark line looked good.
Perry/Getzlaf for every cycle or fancy stick work they get almost no shots on goal.

Seabrook, Pronger and Neidamyer all look awful again

Not much scoring, but not much louuuing either. Nieds looks much better as does Thornton...and people in EDM have cause to rejoice that they do not have 'Prongs' long-term. Looked drunk.

haha, dont threaten it or someone actually will

that was weird to me as well though, Iginla was in the slot and set up for a perfect pass, he goes to stall who can't one time it because he is a left handed shot

nice of no show joe to make an appearance though

Crosby's line (whoever is on it) is going to have to start generating more in the way of high quality scoring chances if Canada's going to have any chance of beating Russia, assuming it gets that far.
I can see them outplaying the Russians for a whole game, just like they've outplayed every other team so far, and still being outscored at the end of it. In fact, with the scoring woes to this point, I have a hard time imagining any other outcome. I'm starting to think this qualification game is the best thing that could have happened to Canada: more time to gel and work things out throughout the roster.

Iginla had undeniable chemistry with Jokinen compared to today's showing so far on the top line.
We'll see how they do in the second period.

Thornton has looked good. I just wish he would shoot the damn puck sometimes. He has a great shot but we never get to see it.

We need to be much better on the rush. For 2 games now all we do is try to cycle the puck and our D are good at keeping the puck in the zone but not many shots are hitting the net and the other team just collapses in front of the net and at that point it doesn't matter how skilled our guys are. I guess if we keep it up, the other guys will be drained by the 3rd period.

But, but I thought Iggy was the greatest 1st line player in TC history?

if Canada plays like this against Russia, they won't have much of a chance. Nabokov is a better goalie than Greiss and they won't have nearly as much time to diddle around in the offensive zone

Dammit Staal, instead of the drop pass to a covered Crosby, Iginla was ahead of the defender and going to the net!
