I'd say this is pretty big news on the Stamps front.

For all of us who don't follow the CFL that closely.. is P.K. Sam any good?

Stamps trade Copeland to Toronto for P.K. Sam.

Now why the hell would they do that?

Wasn't Sam just a free agent?

Wow. What does that do to the chemistry of the receiving corps? Lewis and Rambo and Joff are always talking about how they can Cope have all been together for so long and are a family etc. Now one of them is traded. Maybe Huff wanted that. A bit of a shake up so the rest of the guys aren't complacent.

Considering that outside of Copeland the receivers sucked last season this is a risk. On the other hand, maybe its the prime example of selling a player at his highest value - with Rambo back I doubt Copeland replicates last year, but man you would hope for a bigger return than Sam.

Not happy with this.

Saskatchewan has signed Dominique Dorsey.

Hamilton signs Will Poole and Jason Shivers.

Actually I don't mind the Cope for Sam trade. While Cope was incredibly hot in the first half of last season he really faded down the stretch. He's not getting younger and with Rambo back he wasn't going to see near as many balls.

PK Sam is younger and faster and can probably take the physical beating down the middle better. The Stamps are still loaded with receivers as well

Some very intriguing comments by Hufnagel regarding the deal.

Said he wouldn't be surprised to see Cope in red and white again down the road, when asked about that later he alluded to a possible coaching position.

That is a fast, exciting group of receivers the Stamps have now

Rambo
Lewis
Sam
Bryant
Ralph

I only seen PK Sam played once and he played well in the game. I am not sure about him right now so I am one of those wait and see guy. I hate to see Copeland leave but actually I thought he will be gone before the start of the regular season last year. JC is by far one of the nicest guy in the CFL and I hope he does well in TO.

Does anyone know if PK Sam does punt return? Stamps really need a good one and I will be dissapointed if we are stuck with Markus Howell again this season.

Huff mentioned that finding a returner was a key priority this offseason and he said it would likely come from "our offense" if they didn't sign one. So we'll see.

I quite like the move, it shakes up the receiving core. As good as Cope was last year, he was going to get cut had he not taken the pay cut couple years back. Cope torched the Eskimos last year and he was decent against the rest of the clubs. The guy can still play but when you have Rambo, Bryant, Lewis returning, Cope would've been the 5th option in the offense behind Reynolds as well.

Huff says the SMS wasn't the issue but getting younger is a good thing. We are still stacked at the receiving position. Rambo and Bryant will lineup on the outside providing crap load of speed and skill. Lewis and PK on the inside with Franklin and Ralph as the backups. The only thing is to open up a Canadian spot somewhere else. I'm not sure but the DB that was drafted last year, Fraser, could potentially play the safety spot or halfback.

Doug Berry named assistant head coach and OC in Saskatchewan. Also Bob Dyce named receivers coach and Jim Daley ST coordinator . That is 125 years of coaching experience right there! Great moves by the Riders.

Steven Jyles has officially signed with Winnipeg.

They'll be a huge run on Matlock season one boxsets at the BlockBuster location in Regina.

They might have to special order the Beta format.

This is a great signing. AC had his best years in Montreal when Berry was there other than the Trestman years.

Nothing comes close to the Trestman years. Besides AC was way younger back then too.

All I have to say is that the Bombers, not exactly known for their success, couldn't get the guy out of there fast enough.

He may make a better coordinator than head coach I suppose.

Toronto hires Jaime Elizondro as their new OC, Chip Garber as their new DC, and Mike O'Shea as the new SC.

Winnipeg has re-signed Ryan Donnelly.

Edmonton has signed Kenny Pettway.
