Anyone else digging the ACR? Ya you have to hit the guy about 1000 times but it just feels fun to shoot.

I think I'm going to switch back to the ACR, the M16A is pretty awesome but I don't know if I like the three shot burst. Plus it has a bit of kick between rounds.
ACR with Stopping power is pretty good at taking guys down from a distance, and accurate as hell.

Stopping power is vital for that gun. I just unlocked the M-21 (sniper) and I just run around shooting guys with that. It's awesome. But in a map where I need a rifle, I use the ACR or the Tar. I think the Tar is a better gun but the ACR sounds pretty sweet

Over the past 2 weeks I've gone from only playing core to only playing hardcore. Hardcore is just so much more fun, and a lot more realistic

Withough a doubt, use Stopping Power with the ACR. The ACR is great fun because it's so accurate and has such a high rate of fire, but without Stopping Power, you'll get your face ripped off. I rocked it with SPP and FMJ and it turned into a pretty beastly gun.
In my opinion, the SCAR-H, the TAR-21 and the AK-47 are the only assault rifles you can really afford to go without Stopping Power on.

The only thing that sucks about using Stopping Power right now is that you can't use cold blooded...and with all the care package glitches and cheats it becomes pretty much essential IMO.

I know. That is why I love/hate being a Sniper. You NEED stopping power as a sniper so they are 1 hit kills (and sometimes they still take 2 hits), but without cold-blooded, UAV/everything always finds me.

I'm not kidding around with air support anymore. I'll kill myself with a Semtex/Frag/cliff jump/whatever. and switch to my RPD/Stinger class with Cold Blooded and shoot that sucker right out of the sky. I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that I'm the only one on my team who will take care of it.
I've even renamed that class to "make plane die."
I have a vicious vendetta against kill streaks.

Haha I have something similar, except I just rip around and do whatever until I get killed, then I whip out my chopper go boom class.

- FAL is a good gun for power, only 2 shots needs if you hit chest and above (but it's semi-auto)
- I have an AA clas. Not enough people makes an effort to shoot down the enemy airsupport
- It's probably a balancing issue with Stopping Power/Cold blooded. Everybody would be a sniper if they were completely invisible

Thats the beauty, in hardcore, stopping power isnt needed, so you just leave cold-blooded on all your kits.
After playing my first prestige almost exclusivly on hardocre TDM, Ive migrated to Hardcore HQpro. Im already back up to level 39 in about a 1/4 of the time it took in TDM.

What about the M16? One or two 3 round bursts seem to take the guy down as well.
I use it from time to time, but I still find I prefer the AUG the most out of the guns I have unlocked (M16 was the last one I unlocked). I use the AUG with with the grip and stopping power which I find gives great accuracy, good power and a lot of shots before a reload is necessary (compared to assault rifles). The drawback to using stopping power like everyone has already pointed out is it makes you vulnerable to air strikes and predator missiles and such, but I find the predator missiles don't happen to me all that much and if I get killed by a harrier or chopper I just switch to my stinger class and shoot it down right away. I don't see why more people don't do that, you get quite a few easy points from it.

Man I have played 1 match of HCHQpro and it was on Favela. The damn HQ was not taken until 22 seconds left in the match .... It was quite weird to go a whole game and not have the hq captured..

Yup M16 good too, but I was just saying in terms of the # of bullets, FAL is the only assault rifle that can kill with 2 hits (m16 fires 3 rounds every time you pull the trigger)
After unlocking almost everything for every sniper rifles (except extended Mag, I don't have the patience to get 40 bullet penetration kills with FMJ), the .50 Barrett is the best sniper rifle in the game. Close second is Walter
The M21 is too weak imo, and intervention bolt action is too slow compared to the others

The Scar is pretty good, but the ACR is super sexy... I kind of just hold down my trigger and spray the guy until he dies. My aim isn't great and I'm usually a tad off from the guy initially so using the ACR lets me adjust my aim a bit.
But I think the best gun right now to use is the M21. Wow that thing is fantastic, you can shoot close range with that thing, far, medium... does everything. I got the MVP with that thing.

I love the FAL.
Dropping guys from 300 feet with one shot with an assault rifle is money.

I used the FAL exclusively with RDS until I unlocked the M16. That said, the FAL is just bada$$.

How are you able to shoot close range with it? Do you scope when someone is right in front of you? Do you do that quickscoping thing that Sly talks about earlier in the thread?

Anyone played the Battlefield Bad Company 2 demo? That game is way better than MW2. No kill streaks, no 3 meter knife lunges, you have to work as a team to win, and mainly DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENTS. The only thing I prefer MW2 is the n00b tube, the n00b tube in BC2 is so underpowered, I also prefer the "hit system" in MW2. By "hit system" I mean, I can tell way easier if I actually hit someone in MW2, and I can't in Battlefield.
If IW wants to make a true sequel to MW2, then Modern Warfare 3 HAS to have destructible environments. It would totally kill the competition then.

I have the quick scope perk on so I can zoom in fast but it's also accurate enough long range to pick a guy off. Short range you can just press your trigger 5-6 times (shoots faster than the FAL) and one shot is enough to kill the guy.

I'm really tempted to give it a shot. Infinity Ward doesn't seem all that compelled to get the fixes they need out for MW2, so the faster BC2 comes out, the better.
I'm getting pretty fed up with the constant air drop glitches and 10 foot knife stabs from Usain Bolt. I still hold a positive KD, but these things just make me angry.
