You know, I just don't understand this hatred Mac fanboys have with Windows or visa versa, I'd be happy with either, but if you want to go for the Priceless factor, how about installing Windows on a Mac.

You know what? It was a simple question and it's already been answered. How about we don't do the fanboy thing in this one Apple thread?

You know what? Maybe you should re-read my post because with a little balance, that's what I was getting at.

I was talking to both of you... and calling someone a fanboy while trying to ask them to not call someone a fanboy is not the most effective tool in the shed.

This is getting stupid and considering the source, laughable.

Why buy an iMac? Apple desktops are lame.
For $1500 you can get a 15" Macbook Pro which is far more useful as an actual computer.
Just my 2 cents.

I used to HATE Apple mice. I love my Magic Mouse, although it was completely un-usable until I found this: http://plentycom.jp/en/magicdriver/index.html
Apple still can't get mouse acceleration done correctly.

PC fanboy? WTF are you talking about? Do I use a PC? Yep... do I run around extolling their virtues to everyone that will listen? Hardly.
I asked a simple question.
Nice contribution though.

Screen size and a bump in processing power mainly. I love the MacBook pro and envy those who have one, but those iMac screens are just kick-ass.
Am I the only one that doesn't find the term "fanboy" insulting? It seems to be the go-to insult in the tech community ... Never understood it. I suppose it has connotations that you're ignorant to reality. I've just never understood the fire it tends to create.

I plug my Macbook Pro into a 25" monitor. Cost me a bit more overall, but it's far more flexible then having a uni-body computing platform. I really enjoy the ability to take my work platform off my desk and into a coffee shop without any problem at all.
I ignore "fanboy" comments. The people who bust them out are usually pointing out their own ignorance or are simply just trying to start an irrational flame-war. Anyone who subscribes to a brand loyalty really needs to re-evaluate their life.

hate to bump this thread but I'm not even sure if I have enough posts to create a new topic and this thread seemed to fit nicely anyways.
We're getting a new Mac next month and I have backed up most of our important documents from our PC to an external hard drive. My question is, can the Mac read this hard drive if I just plug it into the USB port? I ask this cause all of the external USB drives I have seen say I need to reformat the drive to work on an Apple device.
If it can't read the drive, then what are my options for transferring documents, photo's etc from my PC to our new Mac?
Thanks for your help.

If it's a FAT formated drive then yes. If it's NTFS it would be read only but you could still copy files from it to your Mac. It will write to an NTFS volume sometimes but don't plan on it working well.

Sicne this thread is bumped, I'll post here.
I ordered an iMac on the online Apple Store last thursday night at around midnight. The site said ships within 24 hours. I still haven't recieved it, but I did recieve the printer I ordered at the same time that said 2-4 buisness days shipping.
Is that a standard wait to wait for something from the Apple store?
I'm leaving on holidays tomorrow, so I hope I get it before we leave.

"Ships within 24 hours" just means it leaves their warehouse within 24 hours. Log into your online account and check the status of your order. If it's shipped, then it will have tracking information there.
