Aha, she's the one I was thinking of. I was in Australia when she made her first attempt and it was a frequent topic of conversation on the radio down there at the time as a lot of people were saying it was irresponsible for their parents to allow her to attempt something so dangerous.

Definitely a benefit, but the distance being a lot shorter is the main reason they go so far south.
