Nothing like seeing the Patriots getting booed on there home field half way into the first quarter. One of the worst efforts I've ever seen from a team playing @ home in the playoffs.

Antrel Rolle provides a little "motivation" for next weekend:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns
Quote:
“Let me tell you something – that dude is scary,” Arizona free safety Antrel Rolle said of Rodgers. “We have a great defense, and we were up on him and ready to pounce, and he found ways to tear us apart.
“I don’t ever want to face him again in my life. I am dead serious. I’ll face Drew Brees any day of the week before I face him again.”
|
Great defense, really?
I think Rodgers is great, but Rolle may be singing a different tune Saturday night.

Man...that was quite simply the biggest sports roller coaster ride i have ever been through in my many years of following various athletic leagues.
Going down early felt bad but knowing how young the Pack are and the amount of inexperience on both sides of the ball they have, it wasnt completely unexpected.
Then the 2nd half heroics from Rodgers and company to tie it up late, and to see Rackers yank that FG at the end i have to believe that this club is somewhat destined to win this thing and see what happens in NO next week. Then they win the toss and get the ball, and now i am even more confident that the outcome is merely a formality and the pack will be lauded on TV and radio all week as the second coming of the 80' 49er team. Then Rodgers misses Jennings by a couple yards on the first play of OT that would have ended the game, and i think hmmm...maybe just stick with what has been working nonstop for the last 30 minutes of football. So they do...throw short to Grant who gains a first down, but flag on the play which i thought for sure was a hit to the head of rodgers...but no, missed that one and moved backwards 10 more yards. I knew right then and there that the Pack were in trouble. Though they got 15 back on the next play and needed 5 yds for a 1st, the feeling was gone. And we all saw what happened on that last play...nevermind the missed facemask, it was a bad decision to drop back that much as I figured AZ would bring the jailbreak and they did.
Certainly there is much to look forward to as far as "next year" goes, but this one will take a long time to get over. The defense will have to upgrade at safety and they have to address the age on the corners, but overall they have a good group going forward. The offense is running ata clip i didnt think possible with a McCarthy led team, but Rodgers is clearly among the elite in the NFL now though the O-Line needs some help. That part of the team will be fine.
Ugh....just a difficult way to end the season...almost would have been easier to see AZ just run away as it appeared they would in the 1st quarter.

Dallas - hottest team right now... I think the only team that can beat them when they are on is the Colts 31-17
Saints - Saints D is better than the Cards they will get more stops 42 - 28
Colts - Best team in the NFL 28 - 14
Jets - This was the matchup I was waiting for. 2nd worst run D in the league against the best run offense. Jets will run til the clock hits 0. 17-14

I turned on the game yesterday in the first quarter and was stunned to see the Ravens leading by 24. I knew the Pats would be in tough, but wow.... Worst game I've seen from Brady ever. The Pats defense certainly didn't help with their total inability to stop the run.
Heal up, Tom. Hopefully the off season has some answers for this team, very ordinary against good teams (save the Colts game they had the potential to win).

They haven't won a Superbowl since 2004 which will be 6 years ago, although they had the undefeated season in 2007. I think the loss in Superbowl in 2008 to the Giants pretty much started the end of that run. It's a new decade, and I don't think Brady is going to be leading them to 3 more Superbowls or 4 more appearances in this one. I think they'll still be competitive, but a lot of their offensive stars in getting on age wise, and who knows how well Welker can play after recovering from that injury of his.
