Odd request... does anyone know where the saddledome gets their cheese for their nachos and is it available for purchase?

A brand name would be great. Im curious for parties (superbowl, away games) if you can buy it cus its the best ive ever had

It's almost certainly a mass-produced product for the commercial market, probably not available in a retail format, and they'd probably tell you if you called them and asked to talk to someone in food services.

hasn't it been talked about on here that it's basically Flames branded nacho cheese...made specifically for the team?

			Wow, talk about unoriginal.
Next thing you know you'll be peddling some story about a kid with copious amounts of ear wax riding a donkey with you in Peru.

The Saddledome Cheese I believe comes from Bridgebrand (GFS Canada). I don't remember what brand the nacho cheese was but I am 100% sure this is what they use on their nacho's. Unless of course they changed it since 3 years ago when I quit working the warehouse. |

Can you provide the address of the warehouse so I can break into it?

Why did they stop selling the Beer Nuts in those little black bags in the Dome?
Those things were, as the French say, delicious.

			careful
Ricos sells several versions of nacho cheese. The saddledome stuff is the top end. I got suckered into a Rico's brand that looks exactly like that in the photo and bought a tub of it. It wasn't the right stuff.

The right stuff has nearly the same label, so buy in single quantities rather than by the case until you get it right.

In the interim, buy Tostitos brand from safeway, along with sharp, aged cheddar. Grate the chedder in and heat it. It comes a distant second place (distant, distant second), but it still miles ahead of anything else on the market.

However, if you do find the proper flames stuff, please, please, please let us know and I will gladly participate in a massive purchase.

This thread made me so desperately crave for some nuclear orange colored processed cheese product in a plastic tray that I had to resort to taking out a Swansons' Hungry Man Buffalo Chicken Strips and Cheese Fries out of the freezer that I had been saving. Wow that was delicious.

The Flames order all concession supplies from Harlan Fairbanks, a concession distributor in the foothills industrial park. It is open to the general public. The catch though is that they tone down the heat of the regular Rico's cheese for the Saddledome so it is more family friendly. They will not sell the Flames version to the general public.
I bought a case of nachos and a case of individual portion cheese (much better than a huge tub).

The cheese is pretty close, just hotter. The chips are a bit thicker though.

I still have some of this left if anyone is interested in some. The best before date on the chips is end of Nov, although they are still fresh.

Do you think adding a little bit of sour cream would tone it down? I'm having a serious nacho craving right now because of this thread.
