Some weekly thoughts...
Texas Tech firing Leach is going to send that program back to the pre-leach days unless they're willing to pony up some major cash for a coach. Ruffin Macneil wants the job? There defense sucks why would they promote their DC? Also, why would you go work for the school that just canned the guy who gave you a chance?
I don't see how if you are a high school defensive player you would not want to go play at Nebraska for Pelini. Best defensive mind in college. Back to back games (including one against my Longhorns) he has shown that he can stop anyone. I knew the Huskers were going to win last night because Pelini had a month of prep. Hell with a couple of weeks of prep against UT he shut them down. 7 D-backs the whole game (genius!)... I hope Mack has a plan for that against Bama because you know Saban took notice.
Awesome game last night in the Humanitarian Bowl!!!!

It's great to see Idaho win a bowl game. I knew Rolly Lumbala before, during and after his Vandals years and it's too bad he wasn't apart of a successful team. Hopefully this washes the stench of the Dennis Erickson days off for good.
The Cornhuskers sure laid a beat down on my Wildcats. Yikes. I think they had planned so much on how to neutralize Suh, they forget about the other 10 players. I hope the football program continues to grow... Stoops is finally seeing dividends.

BOOMER!!! hey at least Bobby is back on the winning side of a bowl game. Good win for my injury plagued Sooners. Hopefully this will give them some confidence going into next year.
Anyone watch this sun bowl? Horrid Officiating on two calls against the Sooners. The one on the Punt return and then where they replayed Broyle's catch. Also that gerhart is a great back .

Props to OSU...didnt think that D could keep up with the Oregon speedsters, but in fact they dominated them for the most part.
And Florida is having its way with Cincy....30-3 still in the first half. Tebow going out with a bang!

Not happy with how LSU played today, but that personal foul at the end of the game was bush league.
That Penn State player would have just laid on the LSU receiver until time ran out. The officials didn't have control in that situation.
Les Miles needs to attend a "Clock Management 101" class at some community college in the off season.

It's pretty hard to complain when the refs didn't call that blatant offsides call against LSU on 3rd and goal forcing Penn St. to kick the FG and make it 19-17.

I don't normally complain about officiating, since they're human and make mistakes. Nor did I ever say that Penn State was the only beneficiary of bad calls.
The officials had difficulty determining the proper down at one point, I guess I should have stated they were not in control for a good portion of the game.

I was in NOLA for the game.
I left real early since nola is only 4 hours away from me and I was surprised on how ran down and crappy that city is.
Lots of hobos ghettos, and just plain dirty.
I wasn't impressed with Bourbon street what so ever.
but the game was fun.
I wonder how many of the UC fans were OSU fans again in the morning.
here are my photos

So I used to be a pretty big pro Big 12 supporter, but after hearing that both Pelini and Stoops are helping Saban; screw the rest of the conference. It's us vs. everybody as usual and don't think Mack Brown doesn't love to be in this position.
