221.82 GB

(When you buy an HD TV show, they also give you the SD version... so part of that 222 GB is all of the SD versions of each episode. I guess I can probably delete them since I never watch the SD versions. I originally kept them for syncing to my phone, but I later discovered that the HD ones sync to the phone too.)

Not much. My MacBook has a 500 GB drive, and I have a 1 TB external hooked up to my AirPort as an AirDisk.

LOL wow! you're computer isn't as much a computer as it is a storage system for House episodes. I have to applaud the craziness of that.

What is the resolution of the iPhone screen? I mean if you can't really notice a difference between SD & HD on a screen that small I would think you would want the smaller file size.

Right. That's why I've been keeping the SD versions. I was just surmising that I could choose to save HD space on my AirDisk by deleting them, since the HD versions also sync to the iPhone (as opposed to having no choice at all).

Mac users I have a question.

I want to set up different profiles on the Mac for the following reasons:

1. So my wife and I can each use the mail program to check our e-mails
2. So my wife and I can each use the calendar program to sync with our blackberrys.

I know how to set up a profile but I also want to be able to share our itunes libray and photo"s etc..

How do I do this?

System Preferences -> Accounts -> hit the plus sign on the bottom left of the window -> Enter the info

Go into itunes -> Preferences -> Sharing -> Look for shared libraries

Open itunes and look for the shared library

should get you most of the way there. Others may have better info.

I'm a die-hard PC guy being forced on to an iMac running 10.6.2 at my new job.

I'm shocked at how much I like it. Love the keyboard and Adium. Hate the mouse. For everyday stuff I'd have no problem using it. I like the OS but I'm not seeing any huge advantages to it, yet.

I've got a question about DMG files though. I installed MSN Messenger and every time I start it, it mounts the DMG file and runs daemons from it. Is that the way it's supposed to work? How can I move the files from the image to the HD and run them directly from the drive instead of the image?

Probably not. There's likely an installation script somewhere on the mounted drive, run it and it should install to your primary partition.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it you see the dmg file somewhere on your filesystem, then you open the program from there?

Just copy the file inside the dmg to your applications folder.

Locate the DMG file, open it, and drag and drop the MSN application icon from there to your Applications folder.

Plug your favorite USB mouse into the iMac and go get USB Overdrive (http://www.usboverdrive.com/USBOverdrive/News.html). This application will replace the horrid mouse driver Apple uses and will activate the extra buttons.

I use my Logitech MX518 on my Mac. I can't believe anyone tolerates the "Mighty Mouse".
