Not with the condition the residential streets are like. He/she most likely lost control from a snow rut.

I live in that neighbourhood on the main drag. I also park my truck outside on the street and am paranoid this will happen to me. I'll keep my eye open for a busted up Nissan.

With the amount of snow and ice on the roads, the trucks tires would have slipped rather than the shocks compressing to absorb the momentum.
Maybe the brunt of the damage happened elsewhere and hitting k-trains s-10 just loosened off all the parts?

Might be worthwhile to phone fishcreek nissan and ask them to be on the lookout for a truck like that. Chances are they will take it to the dealer to be repaired if its new enough.

We live in Elgin as well, and will keep an eye out. Just so we are clear, this is the color and model you are looking for? My wife wanted a picture so she knew what to look for.

This one then?
Also, talking about it with Mrs Rathji, we figured that in Elgin the guy would probably park it behind his house on the parking pad to hide the damage, so here is a back picture.

Yeah it should be something like that.
It's hard to believe something like that didn't do more damage. It must not have been going very fast.

If you get Beyond.ca guys help on this, you are going to be an internet legend and they'll nab the guy somehow. They seem to be good at this sort of thing over there, especially with cars.

This may be somewhat of a stupid question but have you contacted CPS?
If this person tried to pull a fast one and report the accident as he hit a tree or a pole or something, he may think he have gotten away with it.
And obviously hit and run is a pretty serious offence under the Traffic Safety Act, requiring a mandatory court appearance or it goes to warrant.

Im going to cruise up the alleys today to see if I can find it. I kind of wish it was one of the trucks, it would be less likely to be garage parked.

Best of luck finding the waste of skin who did this... I'll keep my eyes open, but I'm in the completely opposite corner of the city.
Regarding the relatively low impact on the S10 - could it be that the snow/ice where the truck was parked raised it up a little bit compared to the driving lane/ruts? I'd still expect to see more damage on your truck, but then again, there's so much plastic on cars these days, even a light impact can pop some of that stuff out.
Good luck!!

Yeah, CPS came about an hour after I called this morning. They loaded the bigger pieces into their trunk.

This happened to my parents once. It turned out that it was an old lady that
hit my parents car overnight. She was scared, so she went home to tell her husband. The next day they showed up together and knocked on my parents
door and told them. Maybe he/she will do the right thing, and show up at your door today.

The kids feel asleep so I was able to get out to take another look at the truck.
I kicked around the snow a bit and uncovered another few pieces of the bumper. The biggest one has the bar code and pin. Looks like Beyond.ca was right again.
Now I need my wife to get home from work so I can wander the neighbourhood with a pitchfork and/or torch.
