Default Excellent price on a Stainless Steel dishwasher.

I've been looking around for a while now for a new dishwasher with a SS exterior. I really like the features of the Whirlpool Gold model (powerscour water heads at the back and cutlery tray in the door plus lots of other stuff) and the top of the line model (#GU3200XTVY) with the SS interior is sweet.... but expensive.

Anyways, Sears has it on sale till Dec. 6 for $799.99 (thats $300 off the regular price).
http://www.sears.ca/product/whirlpoo...2928930?ptag=3

I think I'll go down to Futureshop and take advantage of their Price Match policy where they will match any price + give you an additional 10% of the difference between their price and their competitors. That means I can get this baby for $779.99.

Anyways... this is just a heads up on a good price for a full ss dishwasher, in case anybody else is interested.

Future Shop doesnt have stock anywhere in Calgary, if you check the website they have a grand total of 1 in the region.

Future SHop also has a Bosch Stainless dishwasher for $1100 or $1199. Trust me...you will appreciate it alot more than the Whirlpool. Once you go Bosch or Miele you will never by a north american dishwasher again

I heard Mexican dishwashers were really cheap.

I ended up buying the stainless steel Whirlpool dishwasher from Sears on Saturday. Since I live in Okotoks, there's a Sears outlet here and I really didn't want to travel into Calgary the way the weather was.
I got it at Sears for $789.99...
My wife is ecstatic. She hates our current dishwasher (a bottom of the line Frigidaire model that came with the house).

I just bought a new higher end dishwasher a couple of months ago - it has the stainless steel tub, but is white to match our other appliances. A good dishwasher makes life so much better than the crappy ones I've been using my whole life. I spent about $800 as well on sale from Sears - I think it was $1100 or so before the sale. They also gave me a $50 gift card for a minor inconvenience - they delivered a washing machine the first time lol.

I had a whirlpool gold with the cutlery tray in the door in my last house. It worked really good at getting the dishes clean. It was louder than hell though. Bought an LG for around $1000 on sale a month ago for the new house. It works just as good but is very, very quit. I do miss the cutlery tray in the door as it saved a lot of room.

I couldn't believe the difference between NA and European D/W'ers. We had a pretty high-end Kitchen-Aid in our last place, and bought a middle-to-low-end Bosch here. The Bosch is night-and-day better than the KitchenAid.

Meh. Had a pretty new mid-end Bosch at the old place. Got a new Kenmore Elite (KitchenAid) for the new house. They're about even in terms of cleaning, except that the KE is quieter and is bigger inside.

Bosches are nice, but you have to spend a LOT to get the higher end "stuff". They're also a total bitch to install.

Anyone know of any cheap scratch n dent type places in Calgary that I can pick up a dishwasher? The renter in my place broke mine, and I need to chuck a new one in. I'm only looking to pay around $250.

I think Dishwashers are one of those things that each one is unique. My experience is exactly the opposite. Our Bosch is bigger inside and quieter than our KitchenAid was and the cleaning is significantly better as long as we use the right detergent. (Those Cascade tabs with the liquid and powder work awesome)

It may be that it's not as low-end as I remember though. I have a buddy who is a sales manager at Trail (and a Flames fan) who really pushed us to get the Bosch, maybe he upsold me to a better one too...(can't remember)

As for the installation, I don't remember it being bad... I always do that stuff myself. I seem to remember it was maybe a little trickier as to how the hoses ran, but other than that it was pretty plug-n-play...

Bosches are very sensitive to installation problems. Check your warranty terms - if you don't have a Bosch certified installer install it, usually the warranty is void.

As I said, I have a good friend at Trail, we had a little issue with the electronics about a year after we installed it and got them to come out three times with no charge... Instalation was never even mentioned! (Had to keep coming because it was one of those weird intermittent phantom problems that never happen when the guy is actually there, but we eventually got it resolved)

I may just be lucky that I have an 'in' though...

Anyway, sounds like OP already bought a D/W, so no point in debating the merits of Bosch in this thread I suppose...
