Rumors swirl around coaching change

Denver, CO - Rumors in Denver today about a coaching change for the Avalanche. Paul Maurice was seen talking to GM Pat Faith early this morning and Maurice did not look happy. The Avalanche are last in the West with a 5-12-1 record so this should not come to anyones suprise. GM Pat Faith has put a stamp on this team since being hired as the GM and has been dedicated to the rebuilding of this team. He has brought in some nice young assets and a future #1 goaltender but the team has not been performing up to its potential. Team defence has been a problem so far 18 games into the season but Anderson's rating has been the reason for that.

Paul Marice Fired as Avalanche Coach

Denver, CO - It is now confirmed Paul Maurice is officially fired from the Avalanche. "We wanted to go in a different direction but we want to thank Paul for all his hard word as coach".



GM Pat Faith has announced that Joe Sacco is the new head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. "We wanted a guy who can be a part of the rebuilding process, Joe is a great coach and can help get the best of these young players we have. We felt he was the best candidate to coach the youth I have brought in" said General Manager Faith. "He is a young coach but we have a young team, Paul didnt fit well in this situation"

This comes after the Avalanche are last place in the west with a 5-13-2 record. Hopefully this puts a spark in the dressing room.
