There's no speed burst when you don't have the puck. It's all dependent on the speed and acceleration attributes of the individual player.

I thought holding LT just makes your player skate backwards with the puck while facing forward (Ie. walk the blue line, so you can fire a slapshot on goal). Won't holding lt while my player is skating just make him turn backwards?

When you have the puck, try tapping LT. Your player will push the puck forward and then speed up after it.

When you have the puck and are moving forward, because you already have the puck, you're automatically facing it. So you can hold it down without repercussion. You actually have to hold it down to do the spin move. When you tap LT on a rush, it pushes the puck ahead. Don't hold it down, just tap it. It'll kick the puck up, give you a little boost of speed and he'll pick it up again.

However, if you keep pressing it on the same rush, it'll become ineffective and the D will easily pick up the loose puck. Also, doing this near the boards will likely get you pinned and the puck keeps going.

Your good at doing that against me. I wish it was an interference penalty. It probably should be.

I agree. There's way too much of it. However, because so many people use it against me, I really have no choice. If you're not using board play, you should start.

I also use the board play in cheap ways sometimes, but most people have figured it out and also do it, or know what I'm doing.

San Jose always open to trades. Just let me know what you propose. Everyone is available if the price is right.

Good game last night before the Flames Canadiens game. Sorry about the constant delays, my controller kept dying and I could not find any new batteries.

Anyone else agree that LT as speed burst is worse than having R bumper as the button?

I like to hold LT before shooting so that I am squared up before shooting, now I find that while I am in the offensive zone and I am reading to shoot, I speed burst whichever direction I am standing at the moment and usually lose the zone or the puck.

LT isn't speed boost as far as I'm concerned. It is vision control. If you don't have the puck it forces you to face the puck. If you have the puck, it will force you to face the net.

So I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this, but I've had trouble connecting with both Temporary_User and Tripin_Billie, so anyone have any ideas to fix this? Pretty much If get the invite, I either accept and it doesn't allow you to get "ready" in the team selection screen, while if i send out the invite, it says "WAITING FOR OPPONENT" and doesn't move...

very frustrating.

I think it has to do if you are playing behind a router. You need to make sure your ports are open.. It could be you, or it could be the opponent.....

Tell me, as you would a 5 year old how to fix this.

I have a wireless internet setup in my apartment. It is secured. Only a couple of computers and my xbox are connected to it at a time.

All right, just so everyone out there knows, it appears the game does not call interference on you even if you completely smoke a player as long as that player is part of an odd man rush.

Seriously, the best way to defend against the one timer is just hit everyone without the puck.
