Shazam has some great ideas. What you need to do is find a friend with a car and ask them to take you to either Superstore or Costco and buy the large volumes a of few staples. The first few things you should grab are:

1) The largest sack of rice they have. This alone will probably supply you with all the calories you need for the month.

2) A 2KG or larger jar of Peanut Butter. This will be your main source of food for packed lunches.

3) Lots of eggs. A cheap source of protein.

4) Cheapest giant bag of frozen veggies you can get.

1 + 3 + 4 = you'll be eating a lot of fried rice.

GreenLantern's idea is hilarious. Trick or treating for food.

Trick or treat!
Aren't you a little old for trick or treating?
Yeah, I'm in college. How 'bout a can of soup?

LOL

Know what, if some college student did that to me, I'd give them that can of soup.

Do the casinos have $2 breakfast anymore? You could survive on that for a month. Two eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast. Just eat part in the morning and the toast and hashbrowns at night.

Speaking of casinos, I'd take that $65 to the roulette table and hope for the best!

Instead of taking time to figure out how to make $65 work to feed you, I'd spend the time of thinking of how to make the $65 into more money.

I was always better at finding ways to come up with money than trying to live within a small budget while going to school.
Sell some old textbooks, go to the student union and explain your financial hardship and see if they'll employ you in some capacity, offer to clean up after a party if you can keep the bottles. There are plenty of legit ways to easily double your budget.

When I was going to UBC, UBC Food services had to institute a new policy where they started charging for ketchup, crackers, and hot water. Previously, these had been kept at a free condiments bar, but people started to take advantage and make their own tomato soup.

By relating this story, I am not in any way admitting guilt.

I watched people do it and shook my head. You'd see those same people getting wasted at the pit every Wednesday. I sacrificed much alcohol in order to feed myself while at UBC.

Someone has their priorities wrong. I'm not saying who.

Go to the Superstore gas Station after hours and check their garbage. A lot of people throw away their Superbucks receipts when they buy gas. These are as good as money in Superstore and can add up fast at $2-$3 each one.

He still has $65, I hope he doesn't have to resort to rummaging through garbage just to eat.

Strictly speaking he's only getting receipts for food. That's okay in my books.
