I think that is incorrect as well.

One-way into a one-way: turn from the lane nearest the left-hand side of the road into the lane closest to the left-hand side. You may make this turn on a red light after you have come to a complete stop and it is safe to do so providing there are no signs prohibiting the turn. This also applies to dual lane turns.

Very frustrating when emergency vehicles turn on their sirens when they approach intersections or when they need people to move. They should have them on ALL THE TIME (except maybe at night). Drivers need as much time as possible to adjust to make room for them.

Which is why I always stop before the stop line, because then I have the right of way, because I stopped first. Works great for me.

Well if people were checking their rear view mirrors as much as you should it wouldn't be a problem. I love the pure chaos of watching an emergency vehicle come through.

Does this mean you stop at every uncontrolled intersection no mater if there are cars there or not?

No, you don't need to stop, just proceed through them slowly.

Not even that, you just need to be prepared to stop. On your driving exam you just have to cover the brake to show you were aware it was an uncontrolled intersection.

What I love is when the driver behind the car stopped at the stop sign decides since THEY had to stop/slow down for the car in front of them, that gives them the right to completely ignore the stop sign and go as well. Our condo building is at a corner with a 4 way stop - I'd give anything to sit on my deck and pick off cars who don't stop at the stop sign with a paintball gun. According to my husband, APPARENTLY it's illegal to do that. Spoilsport.

Stopping for pedestrians standing at a corner (not a crosswalk) is more dangerous than just driving through. Make the pedestrian walk to a crosswalk or they can wait.

That drives me nuts, I go to go, and someone cuts me off. Or I wait for the person with the right of way to go, and people wave me through like I'm an idiot. Sorry for driving properly

Haha
How long have you been doing this?

Everybody does this even though it's wrong: at an intersection controlled by lights when turning left only one car is allowed in the intersection at a time waiting for traffic to pass and if it the light turns yellow only that car goes not two or even sometimes three.

People in my neighborhood drive straight through on a right-hand only turn all the time. Then they cut the people in the straight through lane only off.

Can't remember the last time I went through an uncontrolled intersection. My neighborhood has yield signs or stop signs at pretty much every single intersection.
Also, not sure if it is in Alberta, but some other provinces lane changes in an intersection is technically not illegal, just considered unsafe and if you cause an accident you'll be at fault.
Another one that needs clarifying is the turning left into the first available lane. That is not always true. For example the Shag bridge over Crowchild has dotted lines that designate that you turn into the 3rd and 4th lanes because the first two exit right away again.
Now one that REALLY bothers me is when an intersection that has a 4 way stops also has the right turn lanes with yield signs. I don't know if that is clear explanation but the jist of it is that if I stop at the 4 ways stop and I'm turning left, the guy heading in towards me turns right and has a yield sign it does not mean that he has the effing right of way just because I have a stop sign and he has a yield. If that was true, a person could get stuck at a 4 way stop for eons because there could be tons of cars turning right.
Not sure if that makes sense without me drawing a pic in MSPaint but I'm too lazy to do that so you'll have to bear with me.

Another one - the Mckenzie Towne traffic circle.
Dumbasses driving around the whole stupid thing in the outside lane.

There are times when, I'm behind someone who pulls so far past the stop line, that I can stop behind them at the same place I would have stopped had I been first in line. What do I do then, go at the same time as the car in front of me? You pretty much have to to pull ahead a few feet and stop again as to not confuse the drivers coming from the other directions.

Also I love how people seem to be confused about this sign:
Nothing more annoying than having some tool in the left lane going bang on the same speed as the car beside them blocking traffic from passing.

This isn't specific to driving, but since we're talking about rules of the road...
I hate cyclists who think they have the same right of way as pedestrians. A bicycle is a vehicle, and all the rules that apply to cars apply to them. No, I'm not required to yield to a cyclist at a crosswalk unless they get off their bike and walk it across.
On a similar note, sidewalks are exclusively for pedestrians, NOT for cyclists.

Heh, better watch it or you'll derail this thread into a cyclists vs drivers thread.
Seems every few months we have a cyclist start a "I hate stupid drivers" followed by a driver starting a "I hate cyclists" thread. Seems most cyclists want the best of both worlds but a lot of drivers don't even give them any respect at all and just try to mow them down.
