Bah, as soon as you saw the word "waffles" you probably got a food-chub and a hankerin' for some syrup - just like a normal person would. The trick is to encourage those urges, and get away from your twisted anti-yum perspective.
As Socrates once said, "Waffles is the shiznit. F'in Spartans wouldn't know a decent breakfast if it came up to their walls and laid siege."

Waffles are full of awesome BUT french toast can be stuffed.....really it's a toss up on a given day as to what is ultimately superior as what you want most. Altho I do tend to prefer waffles - esp if they are covered in strawberries & whip cream. Mmmmmm!!!

My favourite way to eat waffles - waffles & ice cream. Sandwich vanilla ice cream between two waffles and pour warm syrup overtop. Now THAT is absolute heaven.
This used to be a treat for us kids once every couple months. If I had friends staying over they would be like this -->  , just shocked that I'd be allowed to eat ice cream for breakfast. My parents rocked.

Syrup is foul, and French toast is correct in its procedures to not trap it. It also doesn't need an independent appliance to be made.

Not a real syrup fan myself either - brown sugar/cinnamon on french toast for the win.
