Default Reminder: I.R.

So far the sim isn't spitting out many injuries but please do remember to move any guys that are hurt to your IR list. Thanks.

For the players on the farm who are injured you don't need to place them on the IR but make sure they are not in your lines.....

Are we going to run into problems if we only submit a farm lineup with like 17 skaters if it comes to that later on in the year? Just wondering because it's possible a team could have a couple of CPHL injuries and AHL injury's and may only have about that many healthy guys left to dress for the AHL.

We should probably up the roster max for the AHL. I don't see the harm in having it set to 27 or 28.

It's not that easy - the watchdog and everything is set up based on current roster numbers.

Ohhhh yeahhhhhhhh the watchdog. Hrmm...well, I guess we'll have to see what kind of AHL injuries this thing puts out.

I think most CPHL teams do opt to carry 24 AHL guys or it's easy enough to sign dufus UFA's to make sure you can ice a full AHL team.

But I wonder if we couldn't add another AHL only contract option where a team has to sign a UFA from the current database if they suffer AHL injuries? Would be a two way 500k 1 year deal where the player goes straight to the AHL. That way the cost to release the player is next to nothing when everyone gets healthy. Just a thought. It's not an issue yet, but it could become one.

*edit...waste of time, just heal the AHL players if need, that is easier.

just bumping b/c probably worth exploring a few things

I have a 23 man AHL roster, 3 guys will be out tomorrow (fortunately minor) but with 3 goalies I'll been down to 17 skaters...looks like teams are going to be pushed during the year with IR issues between AHL and CPHL

we've only played 3 games and have 4 guys out (1 CPHL, 3 AHL)

don't think you have to put them on the IR but I don't think the SIM will let you play them?

We'll see how it plays out but I look at it as part of the challenge of the game. Usually a fellow GM will trade a fresh AHL body for next to nothing.

yeah fair enough but alot of these are 1 day only injuries and several may pop up in the same day...even if I traded for an AHLer today not sure I would have him for tomorrow's game...as long as the SIM will let me go with one less skater for a day its ok

obviously you have to manage your CPHL team to not less this happen, but losing 3 AHLers in a day...well its going to lead to alot of transactions this year I think...

just hoping I'm not coming acrossy as whiny, I assumed all the teams were losing guys at the same rate as I was and that this was going to become a league wide issue soon, but injuries don't seem that common, so I'll consider this a run of bad luck. the sim is finicky though I almost couldn't field a team they would accept. managed to but I think on a day to day basis some AHL teams might be a bit messy (is it hard for the simmers to trouble shoot the unknown player issue?)

Not sure if the unknown player thing will be a big issue or not - we're learning as we go too.

Is the only way you can see an injury in the box score? or am I missing something?

There is 3 ways that I know of;

(1) Check the ratings.. both for the CPHL players and the Farm players

(2) Under Game Notes for each game it will list the players hurt

(3) There is a link that is called "CPHL injuries" with the all of the other links (select the link "STATs" then its listed there)
