Thumbs down Dolton Cop Beats Special Needs Student On Camera

Quote:
DOLTON, Ill. (CBS) ― A 15-year-old student was walking down a hallway at school when he says a police officer grabbed him and threw him to the ground. But that's not all. The teenager says he was beaten and nearly suffocated. He told his story to CBS 2 Investigator Dave Savini.

Security cameras captured the beating of a 15-year-old Special Education student by a police officer. Marshawn Pitts says the officer started shouting and swearing at him because his shirt wasn't tucked in.
Quote:
He says he was blindsided by the officer, thrown into lockers and struck repeatedly.

In the video, you can see that he gets slammed to the ground and his face smashed into the floor. His nose was broken.

Pitts says he was bleeding.

"All this on the outside of my mouth was busted," he said.

I don't care about the kid and I don't care about the cop... That style of reporting makes me want to

He should have tucked his shirt in. I'm all for brutal beatings because I always follow rules so it doesn't affect me.

I hope the city of Dolton has a space reserved in their budget for the few million they'll be paying out over this.

The Police officer has been identified as one Doug Niedemeyer seen below in this file folder keeping order at a school parade. . .

Exactly if he can't follow simple rules then he deserves a good arse kicking. Learn to follow the rules kid!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully this has been a good lesson for him.

Once again. Please tell me what happened before this very important story happened? I am sure that this was not the first time these two have had a conversation.

What exactly could have happened that makes it okay for a cop, who looks to weigh at least 250lbs, violently shoving a 15 year old in the back into a row of steel lockers? A past history doesn't make assault okay when it's perpetrated by someone on the street, the rules aren't different because you carry a badge.

This sheads more light on the incident. It appears the officer has been terminated.

Quote:
"Apparently the school that he attended had a policy that students had to have their shirts tucked in," Manzke said. "We're fortunate that it [the beating] was caught on videotape."

Dolton Mayor Ronnie Lewis said the officer has since been terminated, but claimed he does not know why.The incident occurred in May at the school, a special needs school where Marshawn attended because he suffered brain injuries when he was hit by a car years ago
Quote:
The video shows the burly officer approaching Marshawn and talking to him as they walked down a hall. A woman joins them, and she grabs Marshawn's arm. He appears to pull away from her and say something to the officer, who then suddenly pushes the boy against the lockers, then grabs him and throws him to the floor.

Other staffers then rushed up to help the officer restrain the boy while others stationed themselves at hallway doors.

Manzke claimed the officer was swearing at Marshawn, telling him to go to the principal's office. Manzke said the woman who grabbed Pitts' arm told him, "It's okay," and he told her he was going to see the principal.

Manzke insisted the boy said nothing derogatory to either adult before the scuffle.

"There is nothing [the officer] could say that could justify [the beating]," Manzke said. "There was no threat of harm to the officer. There was nothing that a 140-pound kid could say to justify the reaction.".

More and more I am being convinced that at least 50% of cops were just bullies in high school.

I am not sure if they have this requirement already, but you should have to have some sort of post-secondary education in order to apply to the force as I believe that further education has some sort of humbling/civilizing effect.

A little violence is okay on occasion. That is why this world is full of people who mouth off. They need to have their asses kicked when they push too many buttons.

(...oh, and I just want to say what I'm sure everyone already agrees on is that this never would have happened if the cop was an athiest..)

Of course not, that goes without saying, everyone knows that atheists are perfect.

The officer in question has be terminated. Not sure how a little violence was okay in this case.

Sorry if I was not being clear.

I didn't mean in this case that violence was acceptable. I was responding to the guys post about any violence being unacceptable.

Then I said if somebody is mouthing off and pushing a guys buttons then I don't have a problem if he gets a little ass kicking. There seem to be too many people who think they can yap but then cry if the situation changes. It is probably a different topic.

Absolutely. If I am being an ass and won't stop being an ass then definitely I deserve to have 'my head stomped'.

Well, to be clear. Not my head stomped by a group of guys who don't understand the concept of stopping. Taught a lesson is what I am talking about.
