Google streetview in Calgary

Yeah, the Google StreetView guy came around here on the day we moved into our new house in a fairly new neighbourhood... I thought it was kind of strange, but very cool. We used StreetView to help my parents buy their place in Phoenix. It was a great tool to look at the place and surrounding area before they even went down.

StreetView is now live for Calgary! I assume the rest of Canada is also available, but I'm far too lazy to look.

Airdrie is not included (I live there now), but it's neat to see the SW Calgary house I grew up in on there.

I'm on streetview! HA! I saw the dude drive by my place, so the pic has me standing in the parking lot. I got in my car and drove after him, not sure if those shots made it though. Nerdy, very nerdy.

edit: Woo the car shots made it as well.

A lot of errors. I'm going into areas where I used to live and instead of the street, Google switches halfway up to the back alley. I wanted to see my old houses!

Looks like they did downtown just before the Stampede parade. You can see the bleachers set up along parts of 6th Ave.

I was driving to work one day and the Streetview car passed in front of me as I was about to turn into work. Sure enough, my car's on Streetview now.

Found my house. Funny as you move up the street, in one shot is very clearly winter and as you move onto another street (and actually just moving onto the other side of the street), it is spring (there is a sign on one of my neighbors lawn indicating street cleaning in May, and it is Thursday as my recycling bins are out).

My neighbour got her pic taken 5 times of her taking groceries out of her van and then walking to the front door.

I saw the google car once over the summer. There's a car that might be mine, but it's too far away to tell. I'm just going to work under the assumption it's me.
