I hate the logo... but similar to the Conservative c? Never would have made the connection. Nothing like giving free advertising for the opposite party...

I'd still like to know where Michael is going to get the money to restore from funding cuts, or as he stated pay off the debt without increasing taxes?
He's almost beginning to sound like Jack Layton out there.

To be honest, in regards to the deficit, if the Conservatives hadn't cut the GST the deficit would likely be much lower. I liked it despite the criticism, but in hindsight it seems like the wrong tax to have cut.

Well they both face the same issue from a policy perspective. Both parties are positioning themselves as fiscally prudent, or more prudent than the current government and both really have not laid out how they plan to complete all of these promises. Neither will come out and say that they are raising taxes (clearly that would be political suicide), but yet both are promising better delivery of public service and deficit reduction. My point is just that there is an interesting parallel between the two parties and their current positions despite their ideological differences in many other areas.

The one I saw was on a hat, on CTV news and it was a dark blue.

Now that you've made a useful argument... though this response belongs in the other thread.
For the WAP, both candidates find the carbon capture aspects of Stelmach's environmental plan to be a $2 billion waste. Both find that the province is spending far too much to sustain the bureaucracy (especially in health care). and they want to set the royalty scheme back to what it was so as to help encourage the O&G industry to return to investing in Alberta. Will it solve every problem? Doubt it. And doubt they expect it will right away either. But at least they've proposed areas where cuts can be made.
What the federal Liberals expect to do, I do not know.
