6 SEC teams in the top 25. What an overrated conference.

Yeah, that's exactly why they're overrated. An overrated conference will always have teams ranked higher in the human polls because the voters simply vote for the latest power conference when filling out those 20-25 slots.

The SEC has looked very average in their out of conference play against BCS teams thus far from what I've seen.

Congrats to Miami and thank you for adding more proof that Oklahoma can't win important games.

Once again two 1pt loses against Ranked teams ( neither at home) with a Very Young O-Line and a Backup QB... Your right they suck and cant win games... Who do you root for Clever?

I love this, when one of the big schools gets beat by a mid major...hey they were ranked...any other time a mid major is discussed, they get nothing. nice.

They are still ranked btw... Back up QB and a brand new O-line's first game, what do you expect? I wasnt saying anything other than pointing out they were both 1 pt losses and it wasnt exactly our BEST team on the field. Both teams beat us , but I was just pointing out the obvious for Clever

the one spot will work its way out as long as UF and UA win. they will end up playing eachother in the SECCG and only one can win. basically any team needs to fight for the 2nd spot right now.

Ahh the good old Irish. The only one of my football teams that played some ball this weekend. Their offense is dang good. Jimmy Clausen is one heck of a QB.

Too bad that blown 2-point conversion call stole a win from the Huskies.

Well you know if this and if that. Notre Dame could well be an undefeated team IF it weren't for those last 11 seconds in their only loss. But reality is they are 4-1 and have one of the best QB's going and that gives them a chance. That despite key injuries and a defense that isn't scaring anyone.

I hold Oklahoma personally responsible for the rising of the mid-major complaint about getting BCS bids and the constant, seemingly never ending ESPN coverage of "when we will get a playoff system" in NCAA football.

Oklahoma couldn't beat Boise State and got beat by every trick play in the book. It will take years of success to wash the stank off from that alone.

I cheer for anything Pac-10 in any sport. Football I'm torn - strong ties to Arizona and USC, obviously, and I live in the Bay Area so I've been exposed to Cal a lot more (less with Stanford). I guess probably USC because of the massive amount of talent that runs through that school. It's fun to be able to watch the NFL and see so many guys that you followed in college.

The reality is that if the refs (and the replay officials who didn't review it which is baffling) didn't blow the 2-point conversion call the Huskies kick a FG to win at the end of regulation instead of to tie.

This has nothing to do with losing to Michigan - there wasn't an obvious blown call to lose that one for ND.

Yes it does. It's just another "IF". If they hold on for 11 more seconds. If this guy catches the pass. IF the refs make the call. Notre Dame has had calls go their way and against them so far. Huskies had their chances to win that game with or without the call going their way. They didn't. Notre Dame did.

Notre Dame are the cardiac kids this year. Their record could be dang near anything from 5-0 to 1-4.

Well, there's a huge difference between holding on for 11 seconds and a ref making the proper call.

Notre Dame can control Forcier not throwing that TD pass. Washington can only stop Hughes clearly short and hope the right call is made. It wasn't and it cost them the game. Hell, when Washington scored what would've been a game ending TD in the 4th the refs had no problems taking a second look at that (and even overturning what looked to be an inconclusive call).

Washington did have their chances to put the game away, but that doesn't change the fact that they still should've won.

Wait. Let's use logic. Washington beats USC. Notre Dame beats Washington. USC is the only real team they have played? I'm thinking Notre Dame's schedule is full of real team!!!!!!!

I blame the lack of any quality conferences outside the Big 12 and SEC. The Pac 10 has USC and a rotating good team every year (and I guess they are excused for their 1-6 record against the MWC last year?). Big Ten has Ohio St. and sometimes a good Penn St. Big East and ACC are also very meh usually except one team (sometimes the Big East doesn't even have one).
