Call them. They will give you a Purolator acct # to ship to them. Flat rate of $75. I got mine back in 3 or 4 days, really fast.

Thanks Red,
So am I dreaming if I thought that there may be a CP solution that would have me playing Guitar Hero tonight. If so, then so be it, but isn't there somewhere in town to take it? Or is it a warranty issue? Would it be a problem if I bought the thing new on Kijiji from a guy a year and a half ago, and I dont have a receipt?

Isn't it nice when you can pay 2-3-4 hundred dollars for a piece of electronics and feel like an internet forum is your best bet for getting it working again.
I remember not too long ago, 10- 15 yrs, stuff used to work for years, and if there was a problem, situations like these were solved at the point of sale.
I feel your pain Rj.

I've sent Nintendo DS's to Nintendo before without a store reciept. I just filled out an RMA request on their website and they provided a Purolator account number so even the shipping to them was free.
I don't know why anybody would expect there to be any place to take non-working electronics to be fixed in town in this day and age. That went out with the vacuum tube.

I think there is a button on the back, perhaps one of the kids switched it?

The kids havent noticed yet but that is just a matter of time.
Is there anything I can do? Am I missing something? Do I have to take it somewhere tomorrow?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Did your power go out recently? I had the exact same problem after a power outage. I was able to get mine working by unplugging and leaving it for a few hours (maybe overnight) and hopefully it will start working again. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...r.jsp#no_power

I had almost this exact thing occur with my Wii a short while ago.
Solution was to completely unplug it for the night, the next day when I plugged it in, it worked. Pretty scientific hey?
Not sure what the problem is but this seems to be a pretty common experience.

That's why you buy an xbox 360. They are much more reliable.

I'm on my 6th 360, yes it was sarcasm. Is green text really needed for these types of statements?

Back then you would be paying 1000+ for a wii. not 250. Items of all sorts are now recyclable because making something that lasts along time simply is not profitable when most consumers only care about the upfront cost, not the appreciated value over time.

There is a thermally operated circuit breaker in the power cord transformer. Sometimes it takes a day or so for that to reset if it energizes.....happened to me as well.....
