Two ranked teams after week 5 or so, is impressive. Two ranked two after week 2 when we know nothing about how good they are or aren't isn't nearly as impressive.
The polls have shown that there are plenty of bad teams in the top 25 early on in the season. When I see people that don't know that I question whether or not they basing their entire arguments on NCAA 10 for ea sports or something. It's just nonsense.
We'll see how FSU turns out but I still stand by the fact that they are not that good and not a top 20 team.

You're right, the fact that FSU went and defeated BYU doesn't mean anything, along with beating an arch rival on their own turf. Or beating GA tech... nay, embarrassing them. You're right man, I am sorry

FSU beat a second tier BYU team and that is supposed to make them a great team? As I said we will see how they do as the season goes on because the guys they have on that roster have shown that they are far from great.
And a win over GT is nothing to write home about. Beating a consistent 5-loss team playing in a week conference isn't an impressive win just because they were overrated to start the season.

Without the best player in the country playing for Oklahoma. That likely made a bit of a difference.
And it still doesn't change the fact that BYU is a second tier team at best. They are not a top program on the level of a Florida, USC, Texas, Oklahoma etc.

And BYU was missing one of their best players in RB Unga. A guy who has totaled 32 TDs in the past two years and is a major factor in the passing game (40+ receptions each of the past 2 years)
You're also forgetting the fact that even with Bradford in the game for almost 2 quarters, the score was only 10-7 OU.
BYU isn't a top program like the ones you mentioned, but there's only 5-7 programs in the country that are. Do all wins not matter unless they're against those programs?

Do you not realize that Georgia Tech brought in Paul Johnson and his triple-option offense last season?
Overhauling the program like that makes all the years before that moot. It's not just bringing in a new coach - it's changing everything in the program (including a ton of player turnover).
Georgia Tech won 9 games last year and I could easily see them winning 9 or more again. Combine Miami's discipline on defense in that game and the ridiculous speed they have and Georgia Tech didn't stand a chance. That doesn't make them a bad football team, just a bad match-up against the Canes.

No but when someone questions whether they are a second tier team or not then it matters if they are one of the 5-7 programs.

I do realize that they brought in Paul Johnson and that it takes time which still backs up my point that GT isn't a strong BCS team.
They are certainly looking better than they have in the past but they still have a ways to go before beating "GT" is a good win based on the program.

That's a silly thing to say. I don't agree with his opinion, but it isn't exactly unwarranted.

watchin this FSU/south florida game. South florida not looking too bad. This is a huge season for them with games vs. both the 'Noles and the 'Canes.
also in the Big East, Cincy is putting the blocks to Fresno State. The Bearcats look strong...another program that looks to be doing a great job of building into a contender. they seem to be gaining some ground in the recruiting battle in Ohio, and we know that has to be a tough sell at times.

I have a plethora of games im switching between right now...and i have to say that Michigans offense and Ga. Tech's defense are the two things worth watching the most. GT's defense has been on the field 6 times and forced 5 punts and a fumble that they recoverd. Very impressive thus far.
And that Tate Forcier kid is just a really good QB...period.
Oh...and Southern Miss beating LSU.....would be a massive upset if it stays that way.

LSU starting to step up now...they have caused 4 turnovers in the 1st half alone and lead by 2.

OH NOS Tebow and some other players flew on a seperate charter flight due to them having the flu. This doesn't bother me that much since brantley is arguebly the 3rd best qb in the sec behind Tebow. THey will be fine.

Georgia Tech is a very good team. I think it's a testament to Miami being a great team that they handled them so easily.
They're returning a ton of key players on both sides of the ball from a 9 win team and should only get better under another year with Paul Johnson. That defense was fierce last season and is basically the same group this season.

I hear that!
Just watched the recap on the big ten network. Forcier over came adversity again. That freshman is a gamer. See his plunge over the top in the 4th.
Carlos Brown needs to be involved in more plays. Flat out break away speed.
Now Suckeye's go lose.
