Grocery Store Deals
The other day I spent 250 at Superstore and got a $25 gift certificate. Since I live near a Sobey's, Coop, Safeway and a Superstore, what other deals do they all offer? Does anyone know? Is it anytime you are at a Superstore that you get the certificate?

Just shop at superstore--save money.
Their beer is cheaper than everywhere else I've seen. Although it isn't kept cold.
-Buy all your beer here.
On their gas receipts, they give you discounts that you can use towards your purchase of food (usually $2-$4)
-Buy all your gas here.

Superstore always has some deal on spend $100 $150 $250 and get something for free, sometimes a pack of steaks, or a cooler or gift certificates, just check at the greeter person when you go in. Sometimes the cashier won't give it to you unless you ask.

Costco is super cheap, but the selection sucks.

Do you mean always as in every day of the week they give you something? Or must sometimes?

Sure, shop at Superstore, at your own risk...But be prepared to have your ankles run over by folks who can't control their shopping carts.

Frankly, we try to shop mainly at No Frills (basically a SuperStore) when we go to Olds for most of our groceries, as they seem to be the cheapest of anywhere else, and for dry groceries I don't think it really matters where you buy for quality.
We could never buy veggies or meat there, though.
We like buying our veggies from a place where they look neat and tidy and we like buying meat from a place where we know there's a butcher of some sort that works on site, even if we pay a little more.

What he said. The PC beer's good.
As for the gas, I believe the chit they give you towards your food purchases is 7.5 cents/litre.

Yeah, I bought a roast once that was so gristly it wasn't funny. And you know that the tomatos have been fondled more than Lilo on a first date.

What's wrong with meat at those places? Sure, it might not be as lean and have more fat on it, but it's not like it's infested with worms. You pay for what you get.
The prduce, on the other hand, is garbage. Most of it's rotten or something's wrong with it, so no go on that.

K sweet I'll try it out this weekend. For the same price as TNT/40oz/black label/AGD type beer I'm not expecting much but I have a good feeling that PC beer will be much better than those terrible beers!

We get everything but produce from Superstore. Sobeys is where we like to get produce.

If you hit Superstore before the craziness of a weekend, the produce is fine.
Even on the weekend, we'll go super early on Saturday morning and it's quiet and everything is fresh and hasn't been man-handled.
Keep in mind this is the Shawnessy location, don't know about the other ones.

This stuff is liquid gold compared to the others. As a conneisseur of cheap beer, I've tried the ones you've listed. TNT - that's the stuff in the "woodgrain" motif, yeah? You can clean your paintbrushes with that stuff. And AGD...........

And that's just it- the meat is no better than the produce for freshness. I have gotten sick from their ground beef on two occasions.
I shop at Superstore a lot for dry and canned goods, but it's usually Sobey's for anything fresh.
