Default Shaw HDPVR Problem

I just moved my HDPVR box to another room and set it all up and when I connected it to the cable outlet it did the normal "dl" downloading. But now the display is stuck on "0" and I can't change the channel and nothing is showing up on the tv.

Any ideas?

Have Shaw reset it from their end.

Anyone have a problem where everything recorded is choppy and freezy? It seems to be a somewhat recent development. Live TV is fine. I have tried unplugging the box and resetting it, but that doesn't help.

I thought it would be a common problem, but I can't find anything really similar on the web.

I have the same thing happen to me. But it's quite rare. I've probably only had half a dozen recordings do that the couple years I've owned mine. I haven't really done anything to try and stop it since it's so rare.

But I have sometimes have audio problems with HD channels. Mostly the sound cutting out for half a second. It varies from channel to channel and sometimes quite a bit, and other times not at all. I don't think it's a problem with my setup because our TV on a different floor has the same problem.

Yeah, initially everything worked fine. There may have been the odd choppy recording in the past, but now it's pretty much all recordings. Most of them are unwatchable since they're so freezy.

Nothing wrong with your set up. It's Shaw's problem, but they will not acknowledge it or fix it. See here

I haven't noticed the audio cuts as frequently in the last few months as I did beforehand.

That happens every summer. Fewer people watching TV means fewer audio drop outs.

Oh yeah... I didn't even think that summer = less bandwidth used

Here I thought shaw actually fixed the problem.

That's crazy talk... Shaw is a Broadcast system not a Narrowcast. That like saying the radio audio quality drops when more people listen to a radio station. That doesn't make any sense.

I don't know anything about how shaw works, but if that's the case then why do they always talk about bandwidth restraints in regards to HD channels?
