My point was simply that I don't understand why people are so thin-skinned that they can't handle random people on the internet cracking on their guy. Look at a poster like Mayer. He constantly gets cracked on for being a John Mayer fan but he just lets it roll off his back.

The first hundred times can be funny. But the constant 'cracking on their guy/topic' is tiring.
Especially when the same picture is used again.
So, respond with another picture.. but I won't respond. I give you the last word and then this thread hopefully can get back on topic. Thanks.

And my point is that you can have your opinion. If you don't like him, that's absolutely fine. I just don't care if you do or don't. Especially in a thread about him coming to Calgary. If one person writes it, I don't mind... if the rest of CP wants to say the same thing, there's a thanks button... awesome. But 3 of the first 10 posts in this thread were actually about the original topic, and the rest were peoples negative opinions. Where was that asked for?
Not trying to convince you that you should like Dane Cook, just trying to say that I, and others here know that people don't like him... We get it. Those who want to go see him, and went into this thread have to cut through the crap to get information about the original topic.
But it happens with Nickleback, Coldplay, John Mayer, etc... So I'll get off my soapbox, and maybe start using the ignore function.

So would a "Screw you, I'll post whatever I want" reply to Prototype's first post been better? I didn't really think the picture was that funny, but I didn't feel like typing "stop policing the internet."
What actually derailed this thread were the people coming in to complain about the posters bashing Dane Cook. The bashers would've just said their piece and left.

It's the internet. People are killing time and trying to stir up discussion. Look at the Kennedy thread for further proof.

Don't you think threads would be pretty short and bland if that was all they contained?
First post: "Dane Cook is coming to Calgary...<insert details>"
Second post: "Awesome!"
Third post: "Wicked!"
Fourth post: "OMFG! I WANT HIS BABIES!!!"
What's the point of that? I also don't see how any of the "He's a ######" posts impeded your ability to retrieve the details in the OP.

It happens in every thread. It's called discussion. I could post a thread about how awesome ice cream is and which brand is my favourite. Someone would inevitably show up and bash my favourite flavour and tell me how unhealthy ice cream is.
EDIT: At least we didn't go "Youtube comments" on this.

What kills the thread is the people who when asked to stay on topic go into their "Who gives you the right to police the internet." How many threads have been switched to that topic? So why do you guys continue to throw that in?

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

This thread has just hit pointless... It's like the worst game of "Telephone Operator" or whatever that game was called when we were in elementary. You start with someone whispering Ham Sandwich, and it turns into Fire Truck in the end.
I'm going to leave it as I'm interested in going, as I think he's funny. If the ticket price is reasonable, perferably at the Dome, you'll probably see me there.

I went and saw Dane Cook when he came here to Vancouver. With tickets at $100 a pop, I would definitely stay away. If it's any cheaper, then go for it, but when he was here on his Global Thermo Comedy Tour. All he really did was rehash his ISolated INcident cd. That's all fine and dandy I guess, but I would also like to hear something different, change it up you know?
His openers (Al Del Bene, and Robert Kelly) were really good, and better than he was, maybe because I've never heard of them, and came in knowing nothing.
Take it for what you will, but it's my opinion on the matter.

Took a look to see who the opening acts are for tonight... looks like Al Del Bene and Robert Kelly, same as stated before. Don't know much about Del Bene, but Robert Kelly was on 'Tourgasim' and was pretty darn funny.
Can't wait for tonight...
