I wouldnt go that far.

Heritage Festival has a much better cultural diversity and Edmonton makes it into a serious event. Calgary has diverse options but not even close to Edmonton. Also it seems just like an small event in Calgary.

He's talking about a different event - Taste of Edmonton is like Taste of Calgary (and taste of Manitoba and Saskatchewan) - it's restaurants selling small samples of their food. Heritage Festival is a cultural food event, where cultural groups (and sometimes it's a restaurant from that culture) sell small samples. It's like Folklorama in Winnipeg or Folk Fest in Saskatoon, only in one location, not separate venues for each country. I think Calgary still has a small event that goes with the global fest fireworks?

Ah, I assumed he meant something different. I have been to both taste of X and I wouldnt drive 3 hours for either, I almost drove to Heritage Fesitval this year though.

If taste of Calgary wasnt downtown, I probably wouldnt go. It is, so I do. Its a nice change of pace or Koryo, Wendys, Taco Time, Vietnamese subs, etc.

I have the exact same downtown lunch diet as you, probably.

Just a reminder that the Taste of Calgary is going on right now through Sunday. We just came from there and I've eaten myself sick. Nice to go when the weather's off as there were no lineups. The booze garden had some tasty beverages as well.

just went as well and with the weather off it was much more enjoyable with the smaller crowds. Barely any wait for food and much more calm atmosphere. Sure th vendors aren't so keen on it though

Looks like they should have put this event indoors with the wet and cool summer we are having again in Calgary/Alberta in general. Ugh. Global warming my @ss.

Did it even get above 11 degrees today? Man that is depressing, its August 14th!
