Default Costa Rica sings Island in the Sun

Hey fellow CalgaryPuckers...

I recently went on a backpacking trip through Costa Rica for three weeks. During my time there, I was able to record the various locals and travelers I met along the way singing "Island in the Sun".

I have put together the final product. This is the most ambitious
project I have ever undertaken and have mustered up the courage to share it, thanks to the encouragement of my great friends.

I have posted it here: http://tashlespoon.blogspot.com/2009/08/hip-hip.html

As well as on vimeo:

PS. Make sure you watch the bungee jumping closer to the end. Cheers!

I was in Costa Rica this time last year for a similar time frame and absolutely loved it. This video brings back a lot of good memories and I recognized a lot of the places. Thank you.

What places did you like the best?

That's a hard question but I think it would be a toss up between Calhuita (I loved the miles of white sand and the National Park) and Monte Verde (absolutely stunning to be in a rain forest up in the mountains.)

Did you visit similar places?

Monteverde was cool but Cahuita was easily my favourite. I spent 5 days in that area just bumming around on the beach and snorkelling. It's tough to choose a favourite place though because it was all great (I even liked San Jose despite its reputation).

That's so fantastically well done. Why do people get these ideas and it's never me? I'd love to do that sort of thing on every trip it would be a blast.

I give it 764289731 gold stars.

I need to listen to Weezer more, they are a solid band. Good video, really enjoyed it.

That was a pretty sweet vid. I should think about doing something like that the next time I travel. Kudos.

Cahuita was our first place, and possibly the best. We also went to Puerto Viejo, Monteverde (Santa Elena), La Fortuna and Montezuma. The trip was amazing, and being around Natt as she filmed this was awesome. Everyone was pretty easy going about the whole idea, and knowing their voices wouldn't be on the video was the selling point.

Love it Natt!
