They were done as soon as they suspended operations for last year. This would simply be a corpse finally admitting it is dead.

Wonder what happens with the AF2?

I assume they get a wartime promotion. Go Shock!

Also, I'd like to point out the CFL has survived yet another league that people said would ruin it.

I can't understand how people actually believed that, the two leagues couldn't have been further from competition for one another.

Why do say that? There are players that decided to play in the AFL instead of the CFL. IIRC, Jim Barker has talked about this.

Why would American football players want to come to Canada when they could stay home and play in the USFL, XFL, WLAF or AFL, and coming soon the UFL?

Losing a couple marginal players to the AFL was never going to hurt the CFL. Nobody outside of the QB position would take the AFL over the CFL if they were trying to get to the NFL, nobody who was going to be a star in the CFL was lost to a league where guys play both ways.

Besides, the CFL is not about the players, if it was it would have been done long ago.

Because every single league you've listed has either closed its doors almost as quickly as they opened them??

I thought I heard that the AFL was considering expansion to Toronto and at the time the talk was that the Argos were done and without a successful team in Toronto the league was doomed.

Haha turns out there was a team in Toronto....great marketing.
